Recently, I didn't have internet and I wanted to play in a tourney, so what I did was use my mobile phone as a hotspot and connected my Wii U to it. It worked perfectly for me for a while with hardly any lag and I only got a connection error once.

I can't imagine that working that good everywhere. I can stream Twitch. But I've had issues were texts would take 10 seconds to send. And it's random. At night it's definatly easier though.
