Is it not more the fact that MS dont own either Dr3 or Ryse, the IP is owned by there respective developers and they only paid enough to keep it on MS platforms.

PS4 vs X1 graphics isn't Wii vs PS360 graphics. They visual differences aren't as obvious. They don't notice the nuances like you and I.

I agree with mr puggsly. the average consumer is'nt going to research the consoles that closely. most of them just tend to rely on what gamestop workers tell them. I've seen it happen and it's can be funny what the average joe doesn't know.

See, I completely agree with that point. If you say that 70% of console buyers don't even know what a pixel is, you probably wouldn't be far from the truth. But people do read opinions from informed websites and users and accept them.

Trivial, but true life examples can be mirrored when buying smartphones or laptops. People have no idea about megapixels, but when given two of them, but one has a 21MP camera, and the other 14, they don't need to know about megapixels, but they know which is better. When given a choice between 2 or 4GB of RAM, they know which is better even if they have no clue what RAM is or what it's used for.

Same applies here, they don't need to look at screenshots or compare videos. When they read that PS consistently has more "peas" and "fps"es than XO, they don't need to understand to know that PS is better for the same price.

As for the Gamestop clerk example, of course my supposition is that all parties are truthful. And when asked would not deliberately misrepresent the features to sell a worse console because of personal preferences.

And, in the end, I absolutely refuse to think I am better than an average customer just because I am a member of a gaming forum. I refuse to belueve that an average person just throws money away without getting informed. Most people who work for their money get informed. 

To me this is not the right question as to me gaming on PC is something different to gaming on console. Yes, I know you can connect your PC to TV, I know of the steam interface and so on but to me the experience is totally different and PC gaming for most people is not plug and play like on consoles.

There are a lot of reasons why people buy consoles instead of gaming PCs and it is not only games.

I'm not saying the reasoning makes sense, I'm saying this is going to become a big bone of contention. Many MANY XB1 fans are fond of pointing out (incorrectly) that the XB1 has more exclusives ... Hell even the media have bought this false narrative. But from now on, the 'list wars' are going to be hell for any XB1 owner who dares to try and continue promoting the idea of more exclusives.

I always thought the whole exclusives discussions is useless. Look how many people buy especially 3rd party games. COD and GTA are the big top sellers on last gen hardware. And the amount of exclusives does not speak for quality, of course. I prefer very good 3rd party games over an ok first party game any time of the day, for sure.

There are a lot of points which makes me buy a system and it's a multidimensional vector and not only exclusives although they are part of it.
