Its very easy. If you dont like it, dont buy it. If people buy then there is no reason to get angry.

Who is angry?

I'm glad you favour the gamer having choice though.....

My comment was towards those where were complaining. Yup. I also like to have more options.

Developers were just as much hesitant or not hesitant to jump on board of the next gen as they were in the past generations.

It's just that 2 things have changed:

1. Games take longer to make
2. Games are therefore more expensive to make

That's why some developers decided to put remasters of their last games, which are done pretty quick and cheap, on the new systems to bridge the time until they have their new games ready.

This.

It sounds to me like developers just need more funding/moolah. I can only assume developing games on the next gen is more expensive than the latest and overall, gaming making is becoming much more expensive with the ever growing demands from gamers.

I guess all these definitive/HD remakes are a way of getting some money flowing to start new projects. At least I hope that's the case.

It's an easy way to make money on people who didn't play it before people who want to play it again. I'm betting remakes are going to die down at the end of this year though.

They make them because they believe there is a market for them.

That's ... it. I mean, what else can be said? What else should be said? It's like people getting mad about McDonald's creating the Big Mac when they already have hamburgers. They made the larger sandwich because they saw a market for it. That's really where the discussion should end.

That people are complaining about bringing games from last gen to this gen, it's beyond ridiculous to me. I can't even wrap my head around it. Did people whine when albums released on tape got re-released on CD? When the songs from those CDs got re-leased as mp3s?

If people buy the re-releases, then the existence of those new versions is justified. Period.

As long as it's a proper remaster then I have no problem with it.

CDs cost like 10 bucks when people still bought them, it's not really the same as sixty bucks for sleeping dogs, that won't be as good as the $40 pc version.

That's off topic though.

One of the things bothering me is that the companies doing, or supposedly doing, these remakes have a lot of other titles that not only are more in need of the update, but have a wider audience and better sales. The Last of Us vs Uncharted, Beyond: Two Souls vs Heavy Rain, DmC: Devil May Cry vs DMC4, etc. If it's all about the money why aren't they going with their bigger titles?

They are annoying but some are good. Surprisingly the one that got the most hate (TLOUR), is one of the few I'd actually buy along with The Master Chief Collection. I wouldn't waste my money on any of the other ones though.

Funny how many people love to focus on the remakes and are completely ignoring all the new games that are coming out or are in development.

I want Skyrim on PS4 since the PS3 version obviously suffered from limited/hard to use hardware
I also want Mass Effect PS4 to shorten the elevators and not lag but oh well
