Landguy said: Almost anybody here making a real statement about these numbers is being hypocritical. Anytime someone tries to use any of the VGhartz numbers to support an opinion, they get crushed with the "VGchartz #'s are bogus" line. Yet, every week, we all rush to comment on these threads with the numbers...
OT : I thought TLOUHD would have done about 100k more. Won't probably matter much, as the game will sell well during the holidays. |
VGC has been in a less ridiculous margin of error before. The only reason the "VGC #s are bogus" even came up is because month after month, VGC kept having the XBone above the PS4 in the US, yet NPD kept repeatedly showing that to be untrue (and by a fair margin, as well). Their numbers are better now, with PS4 not being so undertracked and XBone not being immensely overtracked (the had the XBone overtracked by 100% one month). And even falls in line with the "Amazon Theory" which, in terms of Amazon ranking determining which console is selling more, has been pretty accurate since the gen started.
And TLOU:R numbers are just America numbers. The original release sold nearly the same in Europe as it did in America. If that is indicative of anything, then Europe numbers for the game FW should be around 250-280K. Add in the rest of the world + digital, and this game could easily cross 700K FW. Not too bad for a cash grab, unnecessary re-release that shouldn't exist.
