Grand Theft Auto V has shipped more than 34 million copies since launching last year.

According to Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive, the open-world blockbluster has reached the figure in less than 11 months. It went on to become the best-selling title of 2013, despite releasing towards the end of that particular year.

The game was also reported to be one of the most costly productions ever in the industry, with a marketing and development budget of £170 million ($265 million).

It has recently been rumoured to be receiving a zombie-themed single-player DLC.

GTA V will be available for PS4 and Xbox One later this year.

It will pass Super Mario Bros soon. I guess if you count Wii Sports it won't be the best selling game ever but honestly I don't count a game that's bundled with every console for so long and SMB was bundled with a lot but I'll still allow it for argument's sake

They really did an amazing job with this game. The release time was good so it sold a lot on last gen and the game has actually been dumbed down, it seems now, so it will looks good on the next gen consoles too which will make it sell very good as well. I wouldn't be surprised if all versions manage 50M by the time GTA VI rolls around!!

Look at the legs, If this weren't coming to PS4/X1 i think 45mil would be possible. 50mil is definitely possible and should happen lifetime. Crazy Sales. Mario Kart 35mil+ (Best Selling on a single Console) and GTA5 50mil+ (Multiplat that is going to be the highest selling game of all time excluding Wii Sports) is just insane. Years ago, if somebody said these type of sales would happen, you'd look delusional XD.

Also to Note, Are these the best selling games on X360+PS3 individually? Thats anther achievement. X360 best game excluding Kinect Sports is COD (i think best one was 15mil) and PS3 was also a COD (or was it Gran Turismo 5?)

Yeah, it's probably broken a bunch of records. Probably the game with the most profits of all time or something!
