Forums - Gaming - How Did You Come Up With Your Gamertag/PSN Name?

Lost the password to my original gamertag and couldn't access it anymore. Tried calling MS but couldn't recover the password or account because of an email address I no longer have, credit cards on file weren't mine. I used my ex gf's cards and I couldn't remember the card numbers, nor could she.

I had to create a new account, while doing that I had Tosh.O on the living room tv. While trying to figure out what my new name was tosh played a short clip with some one doing a Cannonball Poop.... And that became my new gamertag: Cannonballpoop.

Unfortunately, Nintendo doesn't agree with the word poop, so it's not the same tag for my NNID.

Last name and year I was born. Did it to poke fun at a cousin who used last name and his football jersey number since me using my birthday at the time (82) made people who saw mine first think he had done the same thing and was thus much older than me (his football number was 75) despite being younger by a few months.

Oh the reasons we choose things when we are young.

Mine is based off a VERY obscure Marvel character. The captains name and some of the transport haulers number.

... the XSE member?

I wanted something else as mine but I thought that the made up name for a town I created in Champ Man back in the day is unique enough.

Antergaton (pronounced An-ter-gay-ton)

No. Not Archer from X-Factor. He's a very unknown throwaway background character. I just thought he was pretty cool.

Accidental.

Man, it is obscure then. Bravo.

Hmm, pie.

I choose the name of one of my favorite JRPGs, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor.

Mine will be exported from my username when I create a new one to separate myself further from my brother.

The reason I chose this name was because I had a WoW char named this and I thought it was the best name I had yet, despite being like my 15th character. The name itself comes from the Greek language. A city was called Pharsalos and slight alteration to that name is Farsala.

Nevada, an american state, also a nickname for an 11 year old killer, both work.

I was one of the first people with access to PSN, so I have a bunch of really rare usernames. for example I own the psn name Ubisoft

lol

I was an Xbox Live beta tester before the official release back in 2002. My gamertag is dreamcast. 'Nuff said.

Author of science fiction and other genres, I write under the pen name Desmond Shepherd. The second season of my series The Permanent Man premieres on November 11, 2014. Pre-order the season premiere The Walls Have Ears on Amazon today!

I started with Xbox 360 and tried all kinds of names, everything was already in use (and that was in friggin' 2007, what do people do today?!). I wanted a name without a numer, I hate numbers in names. So after a while I just gave up and let the Xbox give me some random name. The only one without numbers that appeared was OdinHades, so I just took that one, even if it's insanely dumb. But whatever, I just wanted to play some games already!

When I got my PS3 a year later, I just took that nick over, as I think it's nice to have the same name on both platforms.
