I was kinda hoping they would reboot the Resident Evil series, the direction they took the series in RE5/RE6 has really put a bad taste in longtime fans of the series. RE4 was fine, from 1996-2002 we had 5 mainline entries and the formula was starting to get stale and the controls outdated, RE4 was a nice change with modern controls and a more action focused style to make the game feel fresh but RE5 and even moreso RE6 took things too far by making them purely action games.
I think a complete reboot/remake of Resident Evil 1 is necessary. It can still have the same plot/characters/setting but bring in the over the should perspective and have a nice blend of horror/action. Revelations is a good example of this, to me it was a nice middle ground between old school and new school Resident Evil and to me thats the way the series should be. Not 100% survival-horror, not 100% action-shooter but right in the middle.

This looks great, I'm going to buy it when I'll get a PS4 =)
I'm also happy for the people that wasn't able to play the original REmake at the time.
Hey don't click here ! It's creepy !!
I want a PlayStation All-Stars Sequel ! Come on Sony, stop making too many shooters !
I'll make a better signature when I'll have time to do it...

List of complaints to be used: (please add if necessary) - No WiiU version - Cash grab - Remaster, not a remake - People should buy a Gamecube and play the original - Resources could have been used to make RE7/REboot - Cross-gen, current gen versions will be held back - No WiiU version, still - They could have remade some other RE game (except RE 5/6) - Owners of original game should be able to upgrade for $10 |
Lets be honest. Its very hard for a developer to sell a game in nintendo system if it doesnt have "mario" name. And this is realtiy.

No need to get angry my friend.

You misunderstood. Just making a list.
I personally couldn't care less about a WiiU version, as I don't own it, and never will. Never owned anything by Nintendo, I certainly don't plan to start now.

Good. Plus nintendo systems arent good in terms power and third party games. If you are into first party games then nintendo makes some sense.

I completely agree. Revelations is the right formula going forward. Another RE game that plays like 6 would be a big mistake. I'm generally not in favor of reboots, but RE is a series that desperately needs one.
@OP: I just can't get interested in a digital-only enhanced port of a 12-year-old remake, especially, as KylieDog correctly points out, one of the "enhancements" might actually detract from the experience.
Capcom has so many properties and resources. Why waste time and energy on this project?
