I think 15 million is achievable, but unlikely. Would be great if they did it though, and even cleared 17 million :).

As a person who has yet to buy either a PS4 or an Xbox one, I guarantee you that the litteral last thing on my mind when I buy a new 400 dollar piece of plastic is exclusive* DLC. Strong first and third party games move systems not add ons to those games. So on a more fleshed out note I dont believe that the PS4 will cross the 17 million mark this year, it lacks actual new exclusive games for 2014 and is trying to supplament that with DLC and features that will inevitably be avalible on other systems as time passes.
17m by the end of April is very possible. End of 2014 will be 13-14m.

mmmm it depends on destiny...in order to hit 17 must sell 7m nove-december 1.5+ to nov-dec of 2013, if we consider that ps4 will hit 10m by the end od october...there is on my sig,14-16m...but to be honest it could hit 17m...and even pass it...august 500000 as ps4 will sell 100k each week,destiny boost....800000?8.9+1.3=10.2...oct again 800000 11m+ 6 or 7m 17-18m... I ll repeat it depends on destiny...but the most possible is 16m
17 million is probably improbable with Japan not buying PS4's. 15 million is definitely doable.

17 million seems the outside, If The Stars Align Correctly figure, but on the other hand... well, while the console won't benefit from initial launch hype like last holiday season, on the flip side, Sony (hopefully) will be in a MUCH better position in terms of supply. I heard that in the European regions especially, supply was pretty bad, even after the North American stores seemed to bounce back from supply constraints. So while I don't think that (either console) will have the same 'Big Home Run' they had last holidays in North America... Sony MIGHT get a big, big boost from Europe that more than makes up for it.
