why would a remake of a game that is a year old give me reason to purchase a system when if I wanted to play the game, I'd go spend $20 on it for my PS3?

Remakes are never a reason to buy a system. The only time I can ever justify it possibly being a reason is if One, you never played the game and do not own it already and two, which calls into number one, if you don't have a system that can already play it and you can go buy it cheaper.

Even still, if you are going to go buy a system for a simple remake, I'd go for again the PS3 then as I can get a new PS3 and that game for less than half the cost of the bundle and have a much larger library to me if I decided to buy more games.

Wasn't it the definitive reason to buy a PS3? It is a PS3 game.  Also I feel it is  a bit overrated.  People go on and on about how it is the greatest piece of software ever made and it is not at all, IMO.  it is a great game though don't get me wrong.  #5 of 7th gen, and #25 of all time respectively on my lists.

It's the new thing some users are throwing around to try and explain apparently only reason why people have picked a PS4 over an XBO... not that the 1 million u-turns and the better looking/running games and the knowledge of Sony studios.

Ps I picked up a PS4 day 1 because i wanted to play BlackFlag with good Frame rate and a good resolution...

Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy XV, Current Gen Tales of, MGSV, that's all I can think of off the top of my head.  A price drop or a boxing day deal would too since its $450 in Canada, not $400. 

Well in Canada there is a TLoU:R PS4 bundle for $450. So the game is essentially free, if that means anything.

Given the boost for the PS4 and continued decline of the X1, I'd say the answer is now a definitive yes.
