Who buys consoles for a single game?
| spurgeonryan said: Sure there are other games for PS4, but lets be honest, it was the hype and power of the system that drew gamers to the PS4 over the X1. The games really were not that big of deal as of yet. There were some cool multi system games and a few exclusives, but not much more going on than the X1 multi plates and exclusives to make it stand out.
But now, the most talked about game of this year and last year is out.
Is this the real tipping point for the PS4? |
Nope. Still waiting for the "must buy" games. I can just borrow my buddies PS3 and TLOU for FREE.
Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
Imagine if they had held it back and made it for PS4 launch. Instead they decide NOT to go the Dead Rising 3 route and they get criticized for re-releasing it. If Sony didn't support the PS3 so much in 2013 (a great thing) they could have had the greatest launch lineup ever with Puppeteer, Beyond, TLoU, Sly 4, and GoW Ascension. Of course that would have screwed PS3 owners and I'm glad they didn't but just to highlight that.

Nope. And from the games that have been shown so far, PS4 is the one with the fewest number of games I'm interested in. Maybe that will change in a few years, but right now X1 and Wii U have more interesting exclusives coming out IMO.
Not for me, but to be honest, I wasn't as big on TLOU as others were.
However, the XB1 doesn't fare any better. Although I think that MCC is a far better deal (and I like the original Halo better than TLOU), I am not enticed in the least to buy Microsoft's console either.
This isn't really a knock against Sony or Microsoft as 1st parties so much as it is the industry in general. Nintendo is by far my favorite company, but last gen I was chomping at the bit to add one of the HD twins and its library of games to my Wii. This gen, my WiiU's lack of 3rd party games is inconsequential to me so far and for the foreseeable future.
Since day one the ps4 being the ps4 and x1 well x1 was the definitive reason to buy the ps4 over x1
To answer the OP..... No!
Buying a new gen console for an old gen game is a sad, sad reason.
Case in point, I am a Nintendo fan but I didnt buy a Wii U for Wind Waker remake.
