Forums - Microsoft - The Xbox One Is Doing Extremely Well........

I don't see the Xbox One beating the hype sales of the PS4, much like the Wii enjoyed. However, among actual gamers who track games, there's no denying the Xbox One has a better holiday lineup. People will buy the PS4 because other people are buying the PS4, but the Xbox One has more exclusives lined up along with having every major multi-platform game as well.

Essentially, going into the holidays, the Xbox One has a better lineup, but it won't matter because the PS4 will sell on the hype train like the Wii did (people buying it because it's the "fad" right now).

And no, that's not me knocking the PS4, lol

Why the unnecessary smearing? I see myself as an "actual gamer who tracks games" and still I bought a PS4 for the games that I know will be coming in the following years. Not because it is a fad.

I don't see any reason to ridicule people (comparing them to Wii fad buyers that are not actual gamers) because they see PS4 as the better value when priced cheaper or equal to XB1. PS4's stronger specs is one ting but has it crossed your mind that some people just believe that the future first party offerings will be better on PS4?

(list below is copied from another thread and it's not meant to degrade the value of XB1 or to start a list war, just to communicate why some might buy a PS4 for its inevitable great exclusives)

Well, hello fellow sega fan!

Now ... the disapearance of the Dreamcast may have left youbitter about Sony (I was too, I never got a PS2)... but sticking to MS now is kind of delusional at best, I won't comment on the merits of the games you listed as reasons to get a console, I figure they're as good as others taken individually, the problem is that people tend to want the best machine (whatever they want to do with the machine, games, taking pictures, making phone calls, driving around, etc.) and right now the PS4 is just the best over all console... all perceived benefits of the xb1 are more or less important, you can argue their merits with me or others around the web, but sales show that really, people who want media stuff, they either got it from their TV, their tablet, an HTPC or some Roku box...

I am not saying that the all in one experience is not compelling, I am just saying that people still want first and foremost a powerful game console that is affordable, the xb1 is now affordable (I don't even think 500$ was that much) but it's still weaker than the competition.

So, I don't see the sales trend reversing, if anything they should solidify and maybe PS4 will pick up even more steam in the months ahead, keep in mind that the only time the xb1 outsold the PS4 for a mont was last December, when the PS4 was out of stock EVERYEWHERE and the xb1 had stocks piling up in all stores (they probably just finished selling all these stocks, this is why you now see systems of different colors).

Coming in third place (last few weeks), and tracking behind Xbox 360 is doing extremely well? I would say it's doing pretty mediocre. It may do better after some significant game releases, but that's crystal ball gazing. For right now doing well is not a term I would associate with Xb one, except if I wanted to get lols.

No Man's Sky....call it what you want, this is one of THE MOST anticipated games coming out this year.

No Man's Sky is a 2015 title.

Ah, my bad, I thought it was releasing this year.

Always thought this about sega fans and MS fans^^

But give them at least till next year, I know they keep hoping the x1 will pull another ps3 miracle. This time around it wont happen cuz the x1 has not a single advantage on the ps4 like the ps3 had over the 360, but let them have that dream untill next year.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

So, because a game is on a previous gen console, it doesn't count?  So you shouldn't count Halo then...because it's already available on Xbox and Xbox 360!

Sales will tell the tale here, and LBP 3 is most definitely a highly anticipated game that will sell VERY well (better than Sunset or Forza, just watch!).

Let's not disregard The Last of Us remastered either, which just launched last week. (what did the Xbox One have last week...oh yeah....)

Then there is "Deep Down" (although we might not see that in NA this year), still highly anticipated.

Planetside 2....also highly anticipated.

Infamous: First Light ...yeah, it could be considered DLC, but it's a standalone game, and again, will sell very well.

No Man's Sky....call it what you want, this is one of THE MOST anticipated games coming out this year.

There are others too, but I will just leave with these.  Try arguing your case with facts instead of cherry picking what YOU consider to be "worthy" games.

Planetside 2: PC, not a PS4 exclusive: FACT.

DLC is not a game: FACT.

Ori and the Blind Forest: another MS exclusive I've been ignoring, but just for you, will now add that to the list.  FACT.

No Man's Sky is NOT a holiday release: FACT.

Deep Down has not been announced as a holiday release: FACT.

The Last of Us Remastered is NOT a holiday release in the upcoming months (it's already out): FACT.

What was that about facts, again?

So Titanfall, Dead rising are not exclsuive either.......

PS4 has mroe excluives, TLOU jkust launche,df MLB the show, FF14 all since infamous, what has MS had since titanfall??? LOL at your argument, MS has more exclusives, if you ignore all of 2014, indies, PC games and only focus on a few months.

PS: People dont omnly play exclsuives, PS4 has more of them and more indies..FACT.

Hilarious how you menttion 2 indies on Xbox and ignore all the many inmdies PS4 has then X1....hilarious dumb spin.

People care ablut libraries...not just wajht exclusives came out on a certain month...2015 is looking even worse for MS compared to Sony.

It being on PC is irrelevant anyway, not everyone plays on PC, still cannot play them on Xbox.

X1's 2014 numbers are NOT good, it's dead in europe, and getting beat in the 1 country it has to have..... It is not doing well at all in 2014.
