I'm guessing 2020 or 2021, unless some new technology comes out and gets super popular, and is then bottlenecked by current console performance. VR or MMOFPS or something to that effect blowing up everywhere but needing more processing power.
Current gen hasn't started probably (slow start for current gen only releases) yet so 2020-21

No reason to expect PS4+XB1 will peak next year (year 3). PS3+X360 peaked in year 6 or 7.
GC peaked in year 3 due to hard competition with PS2. The only console this gen that might peak as early as year 3 is Wii U.
It is obviously Sony's call!

3ds successor is coming in 2015 and successor series 2017 ... in my opinion, but it could have the same cycle with gba ,5years:p wii u successor in 2018...nintendo has to support it!
Probably around 2020 to 2021 seems more probable. The new Wii/Nintendo console maybe a year or two sooner. So this gen won't last as long as last gen, but still decent enough.

While I agree 2021 is an insane time to wait, Nintendo most likely wont run out of money at least until 2030, but since they will most likely start making a porfit again eventually, we don't have to worry
