It's really hard to tell. Nintendo seldom really push their hardware to it's limits, especially the handhelds.

I expect the 3DS is more powerful in a technical sense, but that you may see all of 3 games in it's lifetime library which really try to take advantage of that. For most intents and purpose, the 3DS may as well be an N64 with batteries.

 

But the 3DS has Youtube and Netflix apps.

I think the 3DS is more powerful but its full power isn't used because of the 3D Mode, a lot of the power of the 3DS is wasted in allowing the games to be in 3D with a good framerate.

Uhhhhh... 3DS games are far far far beyond N64 games in terms of graphics.

I think Gamecube has better raw graphics? I'm far from an expert on this stuff, but to me it looks like it can handle more polygons and a higher resolution? But 3DS has newer/better textures and shaders?

They're really quite comparable though. Very close.

GCN has more raw power, but the GPU effects/lighting/shaders help the 3DS claw some of this back.

Personally I find GCN games look better though.

GC for me. I enjoy the 3DS more than I ever did the GC but visually the GC is better imo.

Once I read somewhere that the hardware of the 3DS has 90% of the Gamecube's power. Can't remember where so I am not sure but nethertheless I think the Gamecube is more powerful. --> has better graphics
