49ers have the biggest collapse I can think of in recent memory. NFC Championship contenders within points of winning and going to the SB last year, and total garbage this year. They really are far worse than their record. Similarly, STL is certainly the best poor-record team in the league.

*Cough* Panthers *Cough*

Well I was hoping the Cardinals would lose out so they fall out of the Playoffs

Not looking good for the Cowboys' playoff chances now. Romo is not going to win in Philadelphia.

But the Cowboys play good away...

true, I just hope Dallas can at least beat the Colts and Redskins. Not much confidence in Dallas beating the Eagles.

Chargers defense playing really hard tonight.

SD is toilet quality compared to healthy Denver or NE (or Green Bay).

Yeah, Phillip Rivers never won against Tom Brady hoping it happens this week though, since I picked SD.

Gamble to catch up some in the prediction league, or is there a method to the madness?

Have no chance at winning it its just a wild pick and darn I picked the Raiders in the wrong week should have not picked them last week and picked them this week instead.  Looks like New England will have home field in the AFC now but I like Denvers chances since they now have multiple weapons at running back.

Well, this week sees me losing ground to the Top5, as well as some followers catching up to me. Hopefully I manage to recover in the last 3 weeks to keep myself in the Top 8 and assure "home field advantage" at least in the first round.

Analyzing my 6 losses this week:

-- DAL - CHI  ---- my risky pick of the week, didn't pay off since Chicago sucks even worse than I dared imagine.

-- PIT - CIN ---- watched the game, a close contest until Bengals imploded in the 4th quarter. Steelers games are always a gamble, anyway.

-- CAR - NO ---- everybody missed this one. A team that struggles offensively for months goes on the road and puts up 41 points on the once mighty Saints. I'm happy in a way, as it still leaves Atlanta in the driver's seat for the division title, even with a certain loss tonight.

-- KC - ARI ---- Battle that again had a chance to go my way, I keep thinking Cardinals will break down and drop out of playoffs, but they keep clinging on. Props to Drew Stanton, I had so little confidence in him.

-- SEA - PHI ---- nothing to say here, cannot pick against the Eagles. Seattle looked mighty last night, as long as they avoid being #6 seed, I'm happy.

-- SF - OAK ---- Look out, Raiders might go 8-8 next year if they keep up the good work. This loss means that Harbaugh is a goner, can't say I'll shed a tear for him. Fingers crossed that the Rams finish ahead of them this year.

I've figured out that the Steelers always play up or down to the level of their competition, winning when they should lose, and losing when they should win. I was originally going to pick Cincinnati this week, but then I remembered Pittsburgh always wins right when you think they are done, so I'm glad I went with my second intuition.

-- SF - OAK ---- Look out, Raiders might go 8-8 next year if they keep up the good work. This loss means that Harbaugh is a goner, can't say I'll shed a tear for him. Fingers crossed that the Rams finish ahead of them this year.

The Raiders wanted to give their future head coach a great first impression.

Everybody can thank me for the 49ers loss, every time I say something isn't going to happen, it happens... So you are welcome!

This was me after the Giants finally broke there 7 game losing streak AND after watching the Eagles get dominated by the Hawks!

you and me both :)

but i'm conflicted since there was no chance of going to the playoff, might as well get the newbies in and get some good draft picks

I've never been for tanking games at the end of a losing season for a better draft pick. The draft is usually a crapshoot because you never really know how well a player is going to do in the NFL. We've seen time and time again players get picked really early and do nothing and players get picked deep in the draft and become all stars. Even if the Giants win the rest of there games they will get a decent draft pick. Might as well play as hard as you can to see what works and what you need to fix for next season. Also peoples jobs are on the line so tanking games wouldn't really make much sense.
