Forums - Gaming - Epitome and fall of you fanboyism moment

I don't think I've actively pushed someone to buy a console, I usually just answer questions people might have truthfully. For instance, one Christmas I brought my Xbox 360 with Dance Central and it made quite a sensation in my family.  When my aunt asked if the game was available on the Wii (because they already had a Wii at home), I told her no but that the Just Dance series was a good alternative.

I tried to make a die hard nintendo (Hated sony) fan to consider other options and not only buy nintendo because is nintendo.
Now he got a PS4 and is a playstation die hard fan (and he hates Nintendo now). Yeah, I'm ashamed

You should be proud. Lord Kaz will be happy. Greatness has arrived.

This are some fanboy moments of mine while trying to defend Ratchet & Clank. I'm still a die-hard fan.

Big failure:

I was trying to convince a group of Jak fans in a Moviecodec thread that Ratchet would win in a deathmatch against him. I brought facts, armors, weapons, HP... I even looked for loopholes on Jak's powers to exploit, and I eventually won the conversation. After that, I got all arrogant by saying "Yeah, y'all heard me" repeating the facts in a condescending way. A few days later, I got denied the entrance unless I made an account. I did make an account and kept fighting, but I haven't visited that site in a long time.

Epitome:

Like a year later, I was looking at some Ratchet vs Jak videos at Youtube. And when I saw how much misinformation was spread there, I just couldn't resist to get involved. So, I told many people how Ratchet would attack, at which moment would he attack, which weapon would he use to attack (RYNO II ftw)... I basically rendered Jak's Time Freeze as useless. Of course, some people disagreed with me. But I always replied back. I even got so many people to thumb up my comments, and even others were rallying up to support me.

Cant you lie?

I always fail whenever I try to convince my friends that own playstation consoles to buy an Xbox or Nintendo console. In the end, they usually convince me that playstation is better. :/

Don't see the point of convincing someone to change consoles....its like trying to change someone's religion, its stupid and inmature imo.

Helping friends make an informed decision is stupid and immature?

@brendude13 there's a big difference. You can talk about a game being cool, its up to other person if they want the game or not, you don't need to constantly talk about the same stuff to make him change his opinipn.
If someone is happy with DRM then let him be, no need for me to change his mind.

Tried to convince people that console wars and fanboyism is absurd. They said "we know, fuck off".

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

Only failure so far......
I've tried to convince a few friends to get the Xbox One instead of the PS4, no luck so far.
Luckily I still have some time to convince them since they haven't bought a PS4 yet. Not that it will matter to me since I have a PS4 also. I'd still rather play with them on Xbox One though.
