Consoles are far more simple and that is why they sell more than PCs, but I would say the simplicity is also their downfall as it is similar to trying to comapred "Cat in the Hat" to a great novel such as "1984" or "Halmet". They fill the market they are intended for, but one is clealry superior *smug*

NB. Though as a side note, this is why they think the steambox might flop. It was meant to be as simple as a console, but now comes with all the trappings of the PC eg. what gpu, cpu etc. The average customer is just going to be baffled and scared by these choices and go pick up a PS4 or Xbone where the only options you get are gamepads and games.

Most popular PC games of the last 10 years support controllers. Connect a 360-controller and you have the same button layout in games as on the Xbox360 or XBO. Keyboard and/or mouse are an option in most games, not mandatory.

I don't get whats so hard about double clicking on an icon. To each his own.

Some of those don't really apply anymore. Consoles have become more unreliable and fault-prone that a well built PC and you don't have to build it yourself either. As for "security" of not having to upgrade through the entire generation that is also debatable for the same reason; most likely you'll have to buy each console at least once more because it'll die after the warranty is out but before the generation is over.

And then the price thing is somewhat hipocrytical because a lot of people spend 1k or more on a TV which is silly. My 200 bucks monitor looks better than all those "fancy TVs" and with the money left you can get a gaming pc and just play both things on the monitor.

The Vita.  Can't really game when the system has no games.  J/k.

the simplicity advantadge goes far beyond drivers (which are far more complex on pc). a console just works, works out of the box, knows when it needs updates, updates itself, and will always work no matter what i do. 

pcs however won't always work. about twice a year i had to clean up another virus or software conflict that made my parent-in-laws computer unusable. it was easy enough for me but most people are not computer savy. i know you are someone else will try to claim it is sooo easy but i'll bet you pay someone else to change the oil on your car dispite the fact that changing oil is waaay easier than maintaining a pc. point is,.. for 80+% of people the "super easy" action of maintaning a pc is out of the skill level (or just interest). 

hell, i'm typing this from my tablet because i hate using my laptop these days. that fucker crashes all the time and i still can't figure out why. 

anyways, at OP:   i also hate keyboard and mouse. worst controls ever.  that and my house simply has no room for a computer room. i either game on my tv or not at all and pc looks like shit on a tv.  ...either that or i can't figure out the right drivers to get my old pc to output at 1080p. it keeps only gives me odd options that aren't even the right ratio. 

anyways, yay for the guys that love pc gaming but i hate everything about it. if not for consoles i'd quit gaming.

thats because apple is shit?  i cant use Itunes 2. it never does what i want.  and ur om needs some balls. nobody is to stupid to use  PC, u just have to try it by ur own
