Never bought an indie game and may never buy one. I just haven't seen any that caught my interest. However, I recognize that they work for some, just not for me. I do reconcile with the idea that one doesn't buy a ps4 to play indies though they may fill a void. Problem is that void is massive at the moment which is why people are frustrated.

I think my biggest problem with ps4 is ultimately the lack of BC. I got a PS3 in the launch window too and while the "no games" situation was probably even worse, I didn't even notice because I was too busy playing ps2 late bloomers and even ps1 games. PS3 can't play anything but ps3 games so when there are no ps3 games incoming, it's just a dust collector.

Not a single one at any point has caught your interest?

Nope, not a single one from the one I've seen. Maybe I'm missing something. Doesn't help that my favorite genres are widescale WRPGs, JRPGs and especially grid SRPGs (I'd give even horrible games in this genre a shot because they are so few and far between. I'm still debating buying a 3DS for Fire Emblem Awakening. Problem is I haven't seen anything else I'd like to play on it).

Surprised you never tried Reccettear or some of the Penny Arcade titles.

Nope, never heard of it. I just youtubed and yeah, not interested. Just to clarify for the rest of the thread: I'm not asking for blockbusturs like Skyrim, Mass Effect etc. Stuff like Dragon's Dogma, Disgaea, Dragon's crown, Resonace of Fate, Valkyria Chronicles, Sacred 2, etc are the kind of games I got a ps4 for.

95% (if not more) of indie games are nothing more than 1-2 hour long mediocre fests with no replayability whatsoever.

This, but I'd bump it up to around 99%.  People should go and look how much crap is being greenlighted on Steam on a regular basis.  Or take a look at places like Gamestop's Kongregate.  When people hear statements like these, they think of the highly praised indies, but for every one good/okay indie game, there are 100 to 1000 or more that are crap.

I like the idea of indie games, but many of them are pretentious garbage.

And the less talented designers allways fall back on the trinity of boredom, IE: cheap deaths, narrative, and puzzles.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Here's more cancer for you:

Almost all Indies on the 360 were straight up shit.

What stage is your cancer now? Or did that cure your cancer?

99% indie games are boring, repetitive and not good at all. The indie game I liked most is not an indie game. Journey was an awesome "indie game" with Sony's support.

Fatal Frame, Bayonetta, Monster Hunter.

lol Capcom mid tier? Bayonetta quality?

Much more so that the bloated lowest-common-denominator rubbish that generally passes for AAA these days, or the amateurish twaddle that generally passes for "indie", I'd say.

I like and dislike games from all tiers. However, indies do tend to focus on platformers, which is a genre I'm very fond of and can consume in large quantities. I once consumed FPSers at a similar rate, but not any more.

Anti-indier's are the same couch potatoes who didn't like Sega, Nintendo or any good game in the 90s.

So PlayStation fans... after all, to them gaming began in 1995.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

For every indie gem I've played such as Braid, Minecraft and Dust just to name a few, there are literally countless clones of other games or recycled garbage with the term "indie" slapped onto it.

By and large, "indie" games and their developers are the annoying hipsters of gaming.
