I don't know if this happens every week, because no one seems to have talked about it...

But seriously, how the hell is Pokémon Black/White #6 in the UK with X/Y all the way down at #19?

Black White was heavily discounted. You should read the UK Charts thread once in a while!

So, PS4 outselling WiiU and X1 combined. Guess the gap is widening again :))

b-b-b-b-b-ut... the "sub-100k"!!!

..that never happened

Were you around during "under 100k = d0med" phase? Even if you sold over 90k? Those were the good ol' days

3DS is the king, Wii U still holding on :)

I think I got the numbers from hardware year on year,doing some maths,for example it has 264,000 3ds ,so 3ds 19th july 120000+144,000 12th july=264,000...3ds 120000 ps4 118000 wii u 60000 xbox one 58,000 psvita 45000 ps3  44,000 xbox360 31,000 wii 8,000 psp 6,000

ha,the accurate numbers 3ds 120.579 ps4 117.447 wii u 59.173 xboxone 57.774 psvita 44969 ps3 44.781 xbox360 30.318 wii 7.968 psp6.092!

Wow, Wii U hardware is pretty close in Europe and USA. Has Wii U recovered in Europe? They used to support it less than Japan, now they're showing USA level support? Wow. According to the current numbers, PS4 has almost EXACTLY 50% marketshare, over by just 500 units precisely.

For those wondering, the hardware is up, just not on the frontpage:

Those PS4 numbers are amazing too because they are bucking the trend of video game history. Sony sold 48k consoles in the U.S., yet only had 100k in software sales, and only had 3 games sell atleast 10k copies. They are selling a whole ton of consoles with pretty much no software, pretty much exactly how the N64 was back in the day. It will be interesting to see though if it follows the N64 trend of huge 1st year sales and then a big dropoff or it keeps up the momentum. Hard to tell right now.

Well, something you may not be considering is that a majority of the software sales may be digital. No way to track those. There may also be people that get PS+ and download any number of free games to begin with.

I don't see any possible way that the PS4 will drop off in momentum. The N64 dropped off cause in its second year (which is when it dropped off) that was teh PS1's third year and by that point it was already regarded as the dominant console. Next year will be a far far far better year for the PS4 than this year. Just too many good games coming out next year and 2015 is more likly the tru transitional year to current gen when a lot of people upgrade from the last gen consoles. These are some probable system sellers for the PS4 over the next two years. Even if its just a small sales boost.

  • 2015; Uncharted 4, MGS5:PP, The Order
  • 2016: GOW4, GT7, FF15
And there are probably a lot of games we have no clue about right now. But this is all even worse if sony keeps being the definitive MP console. Cause so far every single new major multiplatform release seems to give a boost to PS4 sales a lot more than it does for the XB1.

Drop off..? Not sure if serious. PS4 is gonna go up, not down. And that is 100% certain.

oh and the overall software in the US was

WiiU 88,299 (-10%)
PS4 87,328 (-12%)
XOne 76,694 (-11%)

so i don't see the point
