I'm a nintendo fan, and I don't think WiiU will finnish second. Sure it's now outselling Xone but that is following MK8. Xone will obviously outsell WiiU following Halo collection and Halo5 just like WiiU will gain once agan the lead following smash etc...

It's all about system sellers, WiiU's system sellers are imo way more powerfull than Xone's, but Xbox has more. We have still gotten a Halo or Gears, and they can regurgitate many of these games per console gen. Meanwhile we get ONE mario kart, ONE smash per console gen... usualy same thing with Mario, so after these we are left with one Zelda and that's pretty much it for system sellers. A star fox or F-zero can help but they are not system sellers like MK or Halo. Meanwhile Xbox sales will be helped by Halo 5, Halo 6 and Halo 7 alongside Gears 4/5/6.

I think WiiU will finish third, but who cares? It won't have a humiliating 3rd place far below tthe 2nd like ppl was expecting. It's not doomed, and should not be discontinued like alot of ppl were unfoundedly claiming. It will do similar to the Xone, so if WiiU is a total failure and should be discontinued halfway into it's lifespan and is a complete embarassement for Nintendo that should make them leave the industry, then so is XBone. In a matter of fact we should say these things for 2/3 consoles this gen so... I think it's time for the anti WiiU propaganda to end.

I'm not ignoring that fact, I'm just not viewing it as "now the Wii U will constantly outsell the X1 unless something big happens", which seems to be the idea that some people around here have. Give it another month and the X1 might very well be ahead again, hell it might be ahead this month even or Nintendos financials will show that the thing was overtracked in Europe and that it maybe didn't win a month at all, the difference between the sales of the 2 is ridiculously small at the moment so don't jump to conclusions based on it.

Why can't the Wii U sell more. Sure it didn't do well in the first year, but let's say the Wii U sells a constant 55,000 from now for five years and the Xbox One sells a constant 60,000 for five years. The Xbox One would only be selling 1.3m more systems than the Wii U would, still giving the Wii U a .4m lead. That's saying if the Xbox One was always selling 5000 more a month than the Wii U, never more, never less.

We don't know if the Wii U will retain this sales boost it's started to get, but I think the Wii U has finally got enough exclusives to where people think it's now worth picking the system up. With the Xbox One, the system has a few games the PS4 doesn't and is well known to be a weaker console. Getting a lot of those people to purchase a PS4 instead. It's really too soon to tell for sure if the Wii U has a chance for second place. I'd say we'd be able to make a better guess after this holiday when we see if this boost keeps up and if it gets a much larger holiday boost.

People are really jumping the gun with Wii U locking in second from what I've seen. Nintendo launched one of it's biggest IPs exclusively for the Wii U. While the Xbox One really has no system selling exclusives that will push consoles until Halo. Add on to the fact that the Xbox One is guaranteed 3rd party support and to me that equates to a much higher % chance that one will have the second place locked down. However, nothing is set in stone... except the PS4 being number one overall, unless something monumentally charastophic happens.

I really hope you as well as other rwalize that september-december equates to like 60-70% of the entire year of hardware.  November and december alone is like 40%.  This whole, omg wiiu or xbox one outsold each other by like 10k units in a week is ovr the top.  During the the holidays your going to se differences of hundreds of thousands of units in a week during some weeks.  

As i said previosly in this thread, 2nd year is always better than the first (mainly because of holidays with deals and biggr libraries).  Now i really hope everybody can relax with the "im right motto" and stop argueing over a 5k difference in a period of the year that is miniscule.

What im saying is that during the holiday it isnt uncommon for one console or the other to sell over 1m more than the other console in a month.  arguing over 5k is pointless

I know that the holidays have more sales.  I used an example on let's just say that that's all they sold.  We all know the holidays will sell more and have no idea what sales the holidays wil be for either console this year.  Xbox One is getting its first non launch holiday while Wii U is getting its first holiday as a system that people now want to actually purchase.

That's why in the second paragraph of what you posted, I saidwe have no idea which will sell better and we'll have to wait until the holidays to see if the Wii U not only keeps this boost up until then, but also receives a much larger holiday boost(in comparison to Xbox One.)
