Forums - General - USA has the best athletes in the world?

Well Weezy, in my travels I have found Australia to be the best breeding ground for sporting talent. So we all lose.

Weezy, you are defining the term athletic as a mastery of sports that are played largely in the US, how can anyone win that arguement. I can't speak for other countries but basketball, baseball and American Football are fringe sports in Australia.

Our best athletes go into sports other than the ones that you have mentioned so when it comes to the sports you highlighted, then no of course we can't compete with America, and by extension, we can't compete with your concept of athleticism.

So let's say we invite the American Rugby Team (you do have one) to Australia to play a game. They would more than likely lose and lose badly and Australian people can point and laugh and say, "wow, those Americans aren't very 'athletic' ", because to be honest in Australia real sportsman/women don't require pads when playing a contact sport.

yeah hsrob you're right, wtf is with them and their padding anyway? Harden the **** up I say.

In a year a Chinese person will make a thread called 'We (China) have the best athletics", we even have more gold medals than the USA (Beijing 2008) and I am so sure that you will post 'Because their are 5 times more Chinese than USA citizens'  =p.

And yup nothing personal ( I think people are wondering if we are fighting or not).

My consept of athlete? http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/athlete

I want you to show me an athlete outside the u.s. who has the combination of speed, stamina, vertical leap,  and brute strenght that tops the best in the NFL or NBA.

Again this is all not personal just show me.

Some will say "what about soccer?" Please... Our best athletes do not play soccer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtcC8ZpJ9XU

Imagine Randy Moss if he was playing soccer..  6'4'' dood who is faster and more freakishly athletic than anyone else on the field.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y-v2YLSzAM

Or LeBron James standing at 6'8'' faster and more powerful than ANYONE on the field.

Will someone prove me wrong so I can stop gloating

Im in tears after I see these video's of athletic domination

:)

We can't as you have already made up your mind. AOA had your measure after the second post but all you do is ignore everyone else's responses with you haven't shown me proof. So what is it goin to take to prove you wrong.
