Forums - Gaming - How big of a win is Destiny for PS4?

If it was exclusive, sure. The only things that are exclusive for LAUNCH is the DLC and different colour console. Outside the first week or two I honestly don't think it's going to have much impact on the hardware in particular - ie PS4 won't have anymore advantage over XB1. It'll be one of the first AAA(x2) games to release this gen, which will force people to pick up the new consoles, but other factors will play in making that decision once the supply of LE consoles runs out.
If multiplayer was still free on PS4, that would be huge, but alas it isn't. So that minimizes the benefit it will bring to the console.
People are overhyping.

Fyi, I only have a PS4.

Well shoot Watchdogs on PS4 only had DLC for the PS4 and it pushed the sales VERY high and gave them a boost pretty much through June. So if this has an exclusive console/controller color PLUS the DLC plus the almost "exclusive" advertising then the benefit is HUGE nowhere near minimized.....BUT even with all that said I do think people are over hyping the game but it is looking like it might come close to living up to that hype from everything that has been said from the Beta anyway.

what was ps4 sales watch dogs release week again, 200k plus if i remember correctly?

and now, a white destiny ps4 plus all the other shit

doesnt matter if people dont want to admit it or accept it, destiny is as close to exclusive as a multiplat can ever get.

to someone whos had just about every console, this is just like meh, its probably better for ps fans because its what they always wanted halo on playstation, after like 10 years of it now, even halo is almost meh to me. Maybe some are salty, but i think alot of xbox fans just had bungie for like 10 years as their main exclusive content maker and its not rave level anymore.

Which totally explains the hype behind the master chief collection...

the level of hype is no where near destiny, and 90% of it is from playstation fans, rest my case.

Systems Owned: PS1, PS2, PS3,PS4, Wii, WiiU, xbox, xbox 360, xbox one

Outside of the Sony community I dont think this game has that much hype; so its big amongst an already established fanbase. My personal belief is Sony fans feel they are sticking it to MS/MS fanboys by "stealing" bungie from them; not too different if MS fans went nuts over Fuse. Its cross gen multiplat, not a graphics driven game and outside of PS internet buzz, it seems like a decent Borderlandsesque game but nothing special. The reviewers havent gone crazy over(not saying there arent positive things said) the game either.

I think the white console is a much bigger deal than Destiny itself for PS4(seeing you can play a similar version with free online on PS3). I think the fact that X1/PS4 gamers are starved for games will have a much bigger effect on the games sales than the game itself. I cant wait to try it later today(X1, hopefully downloaded last night), but my PS4 owning buddy already prepared me to be underwhelmed.

Edit:Also wanted to add Watchdogs hype was MUCH bigger in the gaming community (IMO obviously, Destiny is bigger in the Sony community)

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Benv once said that the preorders for this game was huge and that was a long time ago, so I'm sure it will do wonders for both consoles.

Cant wait to play this game ...im getting it on xbox one.so unless Sony make money from my sale somehow I don't see it as a big win...mind you look at watch dogs??

Sunset overdrive on the other hand.....

The only difference.... It doesn't handle or play like Halo....

Well its odd I felt like I was playing Halo. But hey, I'm just guy that played a few hundred hours of Halo over the years.

I was worried it wouldn't feel like Halo, but they Bungie delivered what I wanted... more Halo with a taste of Borderlands.

ioi not long ago said that he thinks the game might do 10mil+ first week. Some people really don't want to grasp how big this game is going to be.

If it was exclusive then sure but no.
