Well, how about we all agree that Sony is not above milking their hit first party games, and that they are not all about new fresh games?

How about we agree that sony is a business who needs to make money to pay their staffs salary's so they can live a good life and bring home the bacon, and lets agree that if their is reasonable demand for product x and they have the resources to make product x well, they probably will, and let's agree that if product x is bad that it will probably affect sales.

I don't mind repeated sequels at all.

It's just that for a long time, people have pushed the narrative that Sony always strived for 'something fresh' and kept making new games because that was their philosophy. And I kept sayng "Wait until they get a hit game....."

I LOVE ICELAND!

But it hasn't started development.

I personally don't think we'll see it the end of the Gen.

Making 1 sequel, that won't even release for a couple more years, is considered 'milking' now?

No. But look at their other series as well. Not all are examples of milking, but when they get a hit, they will keep making sequels as long as they sell. just like everybody else.

I guess the definition of "confirms" has gotten a lot looser over the years.

But they do...?

Media molecule's website states their working on a new ip.
Guerilla games jobs listing states their working on a new ip.
Knack & driveclub in the previous year.

There has to be that balance between making more of what we want and making new ip's.
If anything, naughty dog do that really well.

Basically, the studios whose series never were/stopped being commercially successful are working on new IP.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Hooray for TLOU2 I guess, but what the fuck is up with that fat Nathan Drake picture?!

How about we agree that not every sequel is milking?
