I suppose I should have mentioned the PS1 as well with FFVII and later VIII. That is what really got me invested in JRPG's but I was too young to really understand what I was playing.

SNES for me. Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Secret of Mana, & Final Fantasy got me hooked :D

While I played Dragon Warrior etc on NES it wasnt until Final Fantasy II (4) on SNES that my soul was stirred and life forever changed.

The story...tragedies...so epic and timeless.

It's still my favorite of the entire series, tied with III (VI).

#1 though goes to Xenogears. The epicness of that tale still makes hairs stand just thinking about it.

For me it was the NES. Dragon Warrior & Final Fantasy.

Also I the Sega Master System. Phantasy Star & Miracle Warriors

PS1 and the GBA got me into JRPgs and I never went back.

For me, it was the PS2 and Gameboy Advance that got me into JPRGS. FFIV, FFX, and the Golden Sun series really got me interested in and eventually, loving the genre.
