Objectively speaking these aren't really good sales, the industry is in a bit of a funk for sure. PS4 is ok, but it's not selling like the PS2 or Wii were for their respective first June month's in NPD. XOne and Wii U are doing relatively poorly.

I don't get how people can keep saying this. Its almost like the naysayers just conveniently throw aside all reason and keep saying the same stuff hoping that somehow it becomes true.
Between the PS4/XB1/WiiU 606k consoles were sold in june. Average console prcie is $366. And the consoles selling the most cost $400. For what you are saying to be true, then it means that in the 6th gen, PS2 era sales of consoles first june that had 3 platforms on th emarket sales must be over 606k. Same thing goes fot the first june of the 7th gen with 3 consoles on the market. You will find that at least with the 6th gen, that wasn't teh case. The 7th was different cause well, we had the wii.
Important things to note is the average cost of consoles, which of the consoles were selling the best and how many sales in total. If the XB1 wasn't selling 197k, then the PS4 would be selling over 450k per month. Sales of individual consoles this gen seems lower overal cause as badly as the wiiU and XB1 are doing compared to the PS4, they are still doing very well individually. The industry isn't in a funk, we jsut have 3 platforms all doing well. With exception to the wiiU since its been out longer.
