Better community (in my case, compared to Joystiq) was what brought me here as well.

The makeup has changed drastically over the years, but not really to the degredation of quality, more just a general shift in tone.

My allegiance has been pledged. This isn't a topic about that though and in truth I've owned consoles from all three of the current makers.

I also used to visit IGN and Gameinformer. Now I just visit Vgchartz and Gameinformer. Vgchartz has charts and community, while Gameinformer usually has better articles put up. (for example: almost anything about PC or MMOs.)

I was looking at shipped vs sold stuff on IGN and could not figure it out at all. Then I came to Vgchartz and everything became much more clear thanks to the people commenting.

Yeah.. I keep visiting IGN once in a while and the users seem to get more and more aggresive with each passing day! :-/

There's a lot of idiots with double standards for every platform, which is the biggest problem. Then there are the people that use the numbers on the homepage to prove their points, but will say that the numbers aren't accurate when it goes against what they want. Despite this, I still think this is one of the better gaming forums out there. There's one big problem that I don't think I can mention though out of fear of a ban.

You know I honestly can't get a good read on the staff of '07 and '08. Some people say it was great, some people say it was terrible.

Personally I think it's pretty balanced right now (no bias here ofcourse...), better than back when I joined anyway. Just my experience.
