Lol, yeah, no. Even as an optimistic Nintendo fan, I'm going to have to stop you there and say that's not happening. I doubt all of those games will ever come to Wii U, let alone in the foreseeable future. I won't even talk about 3rd party multiplats.

as for a possible scenario.. lets just say sony decides to coast again next year putting out uncharted as their big game and a couple lesser exclusives and a couple remasters of ps3 games. lets just say that the general public is starting to get sick of the lack of content on ps4 and sales decline a bit. all the while, nintendo comes out with zelda, fire emblem, xenoblade, kid icarus, star fox, f zero, a mario RPG game, metroid, and started getting MORE third party multiplats. and lets say levels rise, and ps4 and wii u end up selling neck and nexk most weeks. throughout 2016, wii u picks up more steam and with their recent acquirement of capcom, comes out with mega man games and street fighter and devil may cry, and they made resident evil good again. and then people really realize that the wii u is the console to get. at this point, sony realizes that coasting isnt going to work anymore, and they scramble to put out god of war, little big planet 4, uncharted 5, twisted metal 5, psasbr 2, gran turismo 7 and 8 and maybe a few others as fast as possible. this results in a sloppy job and people are starting to see that sony isnt big on quality like nintendo. ps4 at this point will also be getting gimped ports.

one possible way, even if this all happened, for the ps4 to sell more is the longer shelf life it would have even into the new generation. but lets just say that sony went under because of all this. since playstation is really their only good thing they have going, lets just say that all this stuff causes people to turn away and sony has to sell off more assets, and then by 2018. they are up for sale.

Your scenario is about as likely as one in which a meteorite demolishes Sony headquarters and at the same time, several other meteorites demolish every Sony studio and PlayStation manufacturing centre.

The Wii U winning this generation is very unlikely. The Wii U outselling the PS4 next year is nigh-on impossible.

But one thing for sure, would be the most fun thing to wacth since the wii golden days. For real, can you think on the gif material that would be produced?

The only way Nintendo can 'win' is if the cost of AAA development and some bad business decisions (such as PS Now etc) gushes money from Sony and they cant afford to stay afloat.

As of right now, simply the brand name Sony sells the consoles.
