I would like to add another point. Many are saying Nintendo innovated most in 7th gen. Nope. They didn't innovated anything in 7th gen. They stole Philips's idea about motion control.

Oh so you have actual proof that this is true, maybe you should just go all the way to the UK and take part in that court case, I'm sure you will be very helpful to those poor people working at Phillips that were wronged by evil Nintendo.

Give me a  break.

Court gave its verdict. No matter how you say in reality Nintendo stole the idea of motion control. And they have to pay Philips for stealing their patent.

Nintendo Loses Lawsuit to Philips

The Japanese company will seek to appeal the court's decision.

Nintendo lost a lawsuit in the U.K., in which the court decided the Japanese company is infringing on two of Philips' motion control patents.

In that case, you dont have a point of worth.

That's true, if you lack comprehension.

Thats true if your opinion means anything. But since your incapable of explaining, it continues to be worthless.

Nintendo's approach never changed on the portable side, and though 3rd parties sided with the PSP, the PSP ended up floundering tragically into what is now known as the VITA, a great system which failed hard.

The Playstation brand in the meantime has done well on the home console front because Nintendo was not able to replicate their mobile success on home consoles, that success due to:

1) A great price
2) A great 1st party library
3) A great hardware product.

You can't know any of this, you can only assume this. Doesn't matter if it makes sense if there's no solid evidence to back it up.

The U has failed at doing what the Wii did by missing part of 3 (the Wii was truly a great and revolutionary product) and most of 2 for now.

However, this pipedream of an article (in OP) will be served a buffet of crow when Nintendo unifies their software library in about 2-3 years. I await with open arms the day when Nintendo will shut the mouth of doubters for good.

If that is what you think will work then so be it. But the evidence points to the contrary. Nintendo has neither the resources, nor the history, nor the incentive as a game developer to priortizes 3rd party over their own first party. Its been 20 years since the original PlayStation. To suggest that NIntendo would drastically, change in the next 2-3 years is unsubstantiated, especially when they are fiscally healthy.

Sony may have created today's "industry", if industry is gaming on PS360-type platforms, with all the types of games that come on it. Nintendo is the last bastion of consoles that don't appeal to pulp and that offer different experiences for all ages, continuing the legacy of Nintendo and Sega, the competitors of a better industry.

You use the word Better, I use the word different, because I'm not making judgements on how the states of the industry are to me just, how they are in general. By industry, I only mean the traditional home console market that the industry as a whole focuses on. Types of games or appeal is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is how the market favors PlayStation rather than Nintendo now, and with the past 4 generations, it is obvious how this claim is backed up.

I am not discrediting the great things Sony has brought to this industry, but in a thread that is pure Sony love, I can't help but put emphasis on how much more important Nintendo is to this industry in general.

Thanks for listening.

I've thus far updated the OP already.

With PS1 that attracted and retained mature gamers who were suffering from fatigue for playing the same game over and over again.

What exactly are you basing this on?

With PS1 people got variety. Who wants to rescue a princess who has been kidnapped for the 100th time over and over again? Playstation 1 was about brand new IP and fresh take on gaming.

Like the seventh, eighth, and ninth final fantasy games or a retro revival of an NES/MSX game?

Or the three Crash Bandicoots, or the three Spyros, two Gran Turismos, etc.

Your snide comments on anything PC, Xbox or Nintendo always give me a kick.

I've read your update, there is PLENTY of solid evidence to back it up.

The SNES, the NES, the GB, the GBA, the DS and now the 3DS are ALL examples of this.

If you think others have nostalgia glasses, I think you may need some form of glasses because no amount of evidence will ever change your mind.

And I never said I think they should priorities 3rd party over 1st party. On the contrary, I believe their unified 1st party offerings will be the death spell of the competition.

Clarify, What are claim are you backing up with the SNES, NES, and the handhelds?

If you don't know what quality over quantity means, then I'm sorry but I can't help you.
