The Wii started to lose sales after 3 or 4 years in the market. The PS4 isn't even a year old. Too early to assume anything.

now the pS4 is dieing off now and the xbox one is catching up. wii u even is managing to staty competitive. it would seem that the domination of the ps4 is coming to an end but hey competition is good!

Too soon to tell.

In 2007 at this point, the Wii was already at 9.3m getting 250k weekly on average for all summer. The reason was that the Wii appealed to Nintendo fan, Casual gamer, and even non gamer crowd. While this gen all 3 console have failed (to date) to appeal to anything other than hardcore gamer.

If they don't succeed to appeal to casual gamer and non gamer crowd latter on than I don't see any console getting north of 100m even 80m might be hard.

I don't see how after less than one year you can say that the PS4 will outsell the combination of the Xbox One and Wii U. It's just a wild guess at this point.



I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

PS4 will never reach the Wii's sales, and the Xbone will never catch the PS4. It might catch the WiiU though.




8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

It will not pull a Wii, The wii was selling  250k-300k a week by this time, the PS4 isn't even over 100k a week. It hits 100k every now and then and it had a good start but it is over. It'll probably stay around these numbers for a bit, drop off, then spike as sales come and go. Ps4 will sell, probably 70-80 million in it's life time (assuming it will be the same lifespan as the PS3) and then will come the next console and we will do all this again.
