I think it's fair to say the gap is still widening despite very little being released for the PS4.

Its blowing the competition away "without games", imagine how well its going to do with games. I know you're just bitter but PS4 is looking to have a very strong 2015 and with its vastly superior market share its going to do well this holiday season as well. *hugs* you're gonna be OK :)
Edit: speaking of mediocre library how is that X1 doing? Your big release of the year is a collection of OG and 360 games lol. Just be happy with third place! You're beating the Ouya:)

Multiplats matter, in fact people over rate exclusives, third party is still the biggest driver in the industry. PS4 has better top quality games now then X1, MLB the show, ff14 , tlou remaster all since titanfall launch what has X1 had? Wii-u is dead with no support from thid party devs.
Your post screams salty butthurt fanboy. |
The last sentence in your post says it all my friend. Sony is going to have a decent holiday season with plenty of third parties and some exclusives but next year...Sony is in a very good position to dominate 2015. Uncharted 4, Bloodborne, and The Order are all amazing looking exclusives that are going to be highly anticipated. Who knows what else they have in store for 2015.
i keep reading the comments and look at the date.
are u guys really sane?

I have got a question for you. What really makes you think that it will be a much closer race? Because there is not a single piece statistical data that suggest me that. Do you really think that PS4 will sell only 25% more than XB1 or WiiU while it has ALREADY sold 80% more than XB1 and 35% more than wiiU (despite a year headstart). Do you have ANY idea about the annual sales so far? Let me break it to you.
In the first 6 months of 2014:
PS4 sold 4.25 million (58.4%)
XB1 sold 1.86 million (25.6%)
WiiU sold 1.17 million (16.0%)
-------
This is not so different than the cumulative average of the first 416 people above
PS4: 52.6%
XB1: 26.7%
WiiU: 20.6%
and even then, this is the most pessimistic scenario for PS4 due to incredible bias from some wishful thinking crowd who think xb1 can really sell equally worlwide at 40% as PS4. Well, it's one thing to think xb1 can match PS4 in US, but it is completely uncredible to think this may be the case worldwide. If anything, PS4 is guaranted to sell well above 50% for any sense of rational thinking
Playstation 5 vs XBox Series Market Share Estimates
Regional Analysis (only MS and Sony Consoles)
Europe => XB1 : 23-24 % vs PS4 : 76-77%
N. America => XB1 : 49-52% vs PS4 : 48-51%
Global => XB1 : 32-34% vs PS4 : 66-68%
