Last gen, doing exclusivity deals for xbox360 made senses, but it's a dumb financial decision to do exclusivity deal for xbox1. Every 3rd party game is selling much better on the PS4 (in US and world) than on the xbox1.
COD Advanced Warfare is a example of a dumb business decision by Activision, and COD AW is going to sell much worse than COD Ghosts.
COD Ghosts sold about 10.5 million on PS4/PS3 combined and sold just 10.7 on Xbox360/Xbox1. About 22 million across all consoles. COD Advanced Warfare is going to have a big drop this year. I don't think the sales will drop off too much for xbox versions, so I expect COD AW to sell about 9 million combined on Xbox360/xbox1. However, the pre-orders for COD AW PS4/PS3 are significantly lagging behind. I would be surprised if COD AW sell more than 7 million combined between PS4/PS3, and I think it'll probably on sell about 6 million. So COD AW is going to have about 25-33% drop off in total sales.
Activision may be competing against itself, but Destiny is going to outsell COD this year. Even more concering for future of COD, majority of COD sales are going to be on the last gen consoles xbox360/ps3. Majority of Destiny sales are going to be this gen consoles and a lionshare of sales are going to be on the PS4.
