Well toad walks slower than a guy with shit in his pants so I think tiny levels suit better.

Plus its a mario game if the levels were bigger the puzzles would be harder.

Lol. Why are we getting bogged down in these minor details like how fast he walks? That can easily be changed. Your second point is exactly what I'm talking about, add more depth to the game and make it more challenging and compelling as a full retail release.

Im not dissagreeing with you I would love it to be a challening game, but the truth is both Mario and cute characters like these appeal more to children. Nintendo will try and make sure it's easy to understand and play while also giving a feeling of accomplishment. When there are too many aspects said children may get stuck on a certain puzzle. Mario as a franchise is currently cemented as a easy to pick up and play franchise so making depth to one seems illogical, at least in Nintendo's eyes.

Oh ok, I thought the perception of Nintendo games as games for kids was incorrect. Nvm then.

the game is meant to be pick up and play and then leave it when you feel like it rather than having to explore and find stuff in a bigger world. not everything needs to be big and story based

Being able to pick up and play and leave it when you feel like it isn't an issue since you could save anywhere. I think people seriously understimate kids these days. Many people played games like Baldurs Gate and Civilization, I played Riven and Lords of the Realm 2 and other games like that as a kid.

Not so much Nintendo games, more like Mario and Kirby games. Also some yoshi games. Basically if the main character is cute and it's a platformer Nintendo suits the game to be more for kids.

Consoles: 3DS, Wii U, and Vita soon. Super Paper Mario fan.

So pretty much all of their games then? Like I said above, people underestimate kids way too much these days.

It was requested by the fans and is likely to be fairly cheap and quick to make. Theyre just throwing it out there as an aside to the fans a bonus these holidays, just think of it as DLC for 3D world thats getting a disc release. Who knows they might take the idea and expand on it in the future.

Have you played Super Mario 3D World?

This is what we've seen of this game. You play on small square pieces of land. That's what I'm talking about, a more complete 3d world to start off with rather than these small islands.

Well if you havent played the game, then you wont know why the stuff you suggested wouldnt work. Each level is like a rubiks cube, you need to twist and turn the world aroung to get to your goal.

I would rather they did what you suggested and make a new game though:)

Yes, it wouldn't work in its current form, I'm saying take the IDEA of a treasure hunter and really expand on it and make a full game out of it.

This game is a minor project from the developers of Super Mario 3D World, they were concerned about the great reception that Captain Toad puzzles had  and decided to make more missions. People thatwant this game actually want to play in cubes, not an action adventure game. This game was entirely made to satisfy demand.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I totally understand that. I don't think a lot of people would be angry to see a more compelling game than a few levels that should just be DLC and probably should've been out by now.

No I don't think people would mind at all, and theres plenty that can be added im sure. But im sure at Nintendo HQ it came down to how quickly they could release it to get another game up for christmas. A lot of ideas that may have come up during development were probably thrown into a folder to be used on future games (in this or other series) so they could get this out quickly.

So what you're saying is that instead of putting in the effort, they decided to go the easy and cheap way? Like I said this seems like something that should be DLC and should've been out by now. I think it points to Nintendo's software output problem as well. I also highly doubt they had much of a discussion beyond making a bunch of Toad levels.

A full-fledged video game featuring Toad as the main character? Ehhhhhh........

It could be done. If freakin' Yoshi gets a game, then Toad could as well.
