I mean the MGS games.

I've played MGS4 3 times and Portable Ops once (Athough I don't really remember it very well).

I'm thinking after watching a MGS twin snakes walkthrough on yt (I've watched half of it),  I'll be buying the MGS HD collection and playing MGS 2, MGS PO, MGS PW, MGS 3 and finally MGS4 once more.

Is this order good?

Any suggestions?

Play them in the order they came. DO NOT play them in chronological order story wise.

Now that I think of it the controls might be a problem.
Maybe MGS 2 then 3 then PO the PW then 4 ?

MGS Portable Ops
MGS Peace Walker
MGS Ground Zeroes
MGS5 The Phantom Pain (hasn't been released yet)
MGS1
MGS2
MGS4

This is probably the most popular suggestion, because the series can get a bit confusing sometimes and you could get lost. Since The Phantom Pain hasn't been released yet, and I don't know if you plan on buying it, that game can be left for last.

Save yourself the time and headache and just play crash bandicoot instead

You could play them chronologically, that's what I'm going to do (Looking into getting the MGS Legacy collection on PS3) Legacy Collection has all the MGS games except Portable Ops and Twin Snakes.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Which means

MGS1
MGS2
MGS3
MGS4
MGS Peace Walker (Originally Called 5)
MGSV (Technically 6) which comes out next year
