Will sell 700,000-800,000 lifetime.
Normal for one games on PS4/XOne, but very well for Wii U.

It's just not gonna do good. It was dead the moment it's release date was later. It's the easiest thing that screws sales the most with games.
Well compared to PS4bone Wii U versions will always be gimped because it is weaker hardware. No one complained that gen 7 multiplats were gimped on Wii, so why should there be reason to complain about gimped Wii U versions?
I disagree with the premise of the op too. If a game sell well and profitably then it will encourage more effort be put into future games including releasing at the same time as other platforms.

I don't get the concept of buying a game to support a system. I choose my system because of the support it gets, but that's just me.

That makes no sense.. Inferior versions is better than no version at all. Ubisoft is the only ones supporting you right now and demanding something better from someone who owes you nothing and loses money supporting you is the srupidest thing you can do.. Beggars cant be choosers. Take what is offered or loose that aswell
Watch Dogs has a 95% chance of failing on the U anyway so Ubisoft likely won't be impressed.

If the game comes out in August or early September, it seems reasonable for it to sell 100k its first week. I hope it sells like 200k or so and at least a million lifetime to impress UBI. I guess all it needs to sell to make a profit is probably 1m. |
It cost Ubisoft 1m Euros to port Assassin's Creed III, going by that figure they only need to sell 100,000 units or so before making a profit. They should have made a profit on all of their Wii U multiplatform releases so far, including Assassin's Creed IV.
Nope the better it sells the more chance you have of getting parity release in the future. They will be assuming they have lost sales no matter how well is sells.
Remember there's a difference between a gimped port and a late port.
Many of Wii U's late ports have been just fine (Need for Speed, Deus Ex, Lego Batman 2). They're just so poorly timed to market that they never have had a prayer of selling well.
I still rather would take a good late port than a day one broken one. If we buy good, but late ports, the publishers will naturally move towards more timely and high quality releases. Simple as that. It's only if we buy seriously gimped ports that we promote bad behavior.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
