Looks very similar to Forza Horizon 2's weather system. Great minds think alike.

60 fps is overrated if 30 fps can allow for good looks like that

So I'm guessing you're not looking forward to FH2? Or is that comment sincere? If it is, I agree completely. 60 FPS at the end of the day is nothing but a small bonus. A solid 30 FPS is perfectly acceptable. Things like resolution take far more precedence. I would rather the game I play look gorgeous in native 1080p than look like a jaggy piece of crap that happens to run smoothly. To have both is great, but if it has to be a choice, I'll take 1080p over 60 FPS anyday.

Gameplay > graphics.

That said, It is nice to have the prettiest looks.

My comments was strictly on graphics. I don't really consider performance to be a factor of judging gasmeplay unless it's a case where the performance is so bad that it actually has an adverse effect on gameplay, like RYSE for example. Just becuase a game isn't 60 FPS, that should not be a judging factor on whether it is good. 30 FPS is perfectly fine, where 60 is just a bonus.

You know similar means "close to" and not "the same" or "superior".

So if you have this superiority complex mindset, which I'm pretty sure you do, the comment is correct. Drive CLub looks better, but FH2 ain't no PS2 game. They are both gen 8 games, and look similar graphically speaking.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Does directly impact on how the game plays though. resolution doesn't. Racing games are better for 60fps than they are for 1080p. If you disagree fair enough, but it would certainly say you're not as much of a racing game enthusiast.

It does if, as I mentioned, the frame rate is bad. 30 FPS is far from bad, even for a racing game, particularly a driving sim like DriveClub. The only genre where I'd say 60 is an absolute must are fighting. You are correct though. I'm not much of a racing game enthusiast, but DC might get me into the genre.

You still don't have as responsive a game if it's 30fps. Something which matters greatly in racing games along with other genres which started life in the arcade.

It's also a lot more difficult to see what is going on at 30fps as you get a "double vision" effect from the frame transitions.

60 FPS is good, but not a game changer. Dont overdo it. U need 60 FPS when every 1sec counts a lot.

That weather is really bad

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Glad you agree that 60fps is very important to racing games. It's a big reason there's been such a shocking decline in quality over the past decade.
