I strongly agree with these views. All these views, excluding PC, are far more perceptible before, during and after the major conferences like E3 and Gamescom.

I really like 3rd party titles though...lol.
Not all, but some, same for 1st partyies too from Nintendo - some i just love and some i dislike/hate.
Maybe i'm a minority of "hardcore internet fans"
I agree with everything except the PC fans part. I mean, the exclusive part of owning a PC is the ability to have options and majority of the third party games are coming to PC with higher graphics and framerate but on top of that, there are mods available to enhance the graphics and extend gameplay that even includes custom campaigns and new worlds.
Even with games like watch_dogs that were gimped ports from the start, the PC community can make it so that it looks very close to the e3 2012 trailer which is not possible on consoles. So, even though we dont have really many PC exclusives, we are still getting majority of the third party thats out there with better graphics and frame rate. Heck, GTA V will look more amazing than the Next Gen/PC port after the modding teams have their way with it (considering how awesome the GTA IV mods look)
With that being said, this whole elitist mindset is pretty terrible (specially if they don't own a good gaming PC) and knowing many pc gamers, it is mostly true which is the downside of the PC community. They look down on people and try to convince you why PC is the only solution to gaming and while it has its many advantages, the initial cost of a PC will put most people down and the console exclusives will never come to PC (most of the time)
Oh and you forgot
Mobile fans: Terrible casuals fans that love playing games like flappy bird cause they love being hipsters which are terrible
PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850
You forgot to mention the hate against other fanboys fanboys usually have. And then there are the fanboy haters who hate just everyone...
I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?
I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.
"When Nintendo announces a new character on a video game, it's almost as big as Nintendo announcing a game..."
I hate this. And I blame it all on the Super Smash Bros. super fans. It's your fault Nintendo thinks this is a good idea.
Adding to Rol's comment, each company usually has 2 or three fanboy groups in them. I agree with all your posts, more or less but there's a couple other big groups i could think of.

This post should probably be taken into consideration as the reason behind this thread and Kupo not being able to post replies to comments in here for a few days. I really dis-like when the term fanboy is used as a negative, being a fan of something should be a great thing really, I'd happily consider myself a fanboy of a number of systems. It's only when the fandom turns to chauvinistic devotion to 1 system as a superior to all else is when things go downhill, which a number of fanboys of various things are not.
tl:dr Being a fan of something = good, wanting something you aren't a fan of to fail = not good.

| RolStoppable said: I very much disagree regarding the Nintendo fanbase. There's a fairly big group that thinks of NES and SNES titles as games that are only acceptable because of the technological limitations back then; so any suggestion that Nintendo should make new games like that are frowned upon. It's also pretty crazy to say that Nintendo fans tend to like all first party games when we had all that outrage over games like Super Mario 3D World and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze in mid-2013. Neither of these two games is by any means bad, but they were repeatedly called shit. What you are looking at in the Nintendo fanbase are a lot of different splinter groups, that's why it can look like all first party games are receiving love, yet at the same time Nintendo gets criticized a lot. The root of those different perceptions of what Nintendo is or what Nintendo should be like is Nintendo's inconsistency during their time in the video game business. Unlike Sony or Microsoft, there is not just one direction Nintendo took. |
Very true. The group OP mentioned are those who i generally consider the worst of the Nintedno fanbase (like i mentioned above), but the fanbase as a whole is very fractured.
They aren't necessarily any better/worse for it, but it's a hell of a lot more entertaining for an outsider

No matter what fanbase we align outselves with, I think we can all agree on our general disdain towards the filthy casuals.
