Forums - Gaming - My PS4 Impressions / Wii U Comparison

You should not miss out on Tomb Raider and Infamous: Second Son. Just get them as soon as you can.

As I read your thread I can tell you are a sony fanboy.

You joined in June 2014 so you're new here. If you knew me you'd know I've been a Nintendo fanboy for a while. That's why your post comes off as uninformed. Again, I respect all opinions but please don't post things like this without knowing the situation :)

My bad!  :P It wasn't directed toward you at all.  I was just saying that a lot of people won't give the Wii U a chance.  They just pick one console and hate on the rest.  Platformmaster has the Wii U on the weaker TV than the PS4 but at least he got one.  You actually gave the Wii U a chance even though, in the end, it wasn't for you.  You're not one of those that hates a console just because you don't own it.

I understand. I was just messing with you :P

If Don't Starve and Doki-Doki Universe made you believe that PS4 is much more powerful than the Wii U, I wonder what you might think when you play Infamous: Second Son or Killzone: Shadow Fall.

Well that's what I meant. If the digital games already look quite good to me, I'm sure the retail & future games will look even better!

what upcoming games are you looking forward to?

What other games you plan to get soon?

First, I plan on playing multiple PS3 games I missed with PS Now.

As for new games? I'm looking into, InFamous SS, Killzone SF, Destiny, Driveclub, LBP3, The Evil Within, and a few digital games.

Very nice choices so far, seems you're going to have a good year ahead of you without building too much backlog.

Just got a WiiU to sit beside my PS3 on my 720p 50" while I have my PS4 set up on my 32" 1080p LED. It's a great combo and I love all 3! I have to say WiiU has impressed me with its multimedia capabilities. With Xbox touting its movie watching and app capability so much I find it surprising Nintendo has made the best innovation and is the most convenient for these things this gen. I just love watching Youtube and Amazon instant on it now!

The Wii U should really be sitting beside your PS4.

the PS4 is in my room while the other 2 are in the family room which is why I have WiiU there for multimedia use.  Does it utilize 1080p on any games?

EDIT:  Just looked up that Wind Waker HD is in 1080p and so is Rayman Legends which I was thinking of getting on WiiU (for Gamepad support)

For the most part it's best to consider the WiiU a 720p system, so your other TV will work fine :) It does have a few released 1080p retail titles (you mentioned two), but all in all the list is rather short. Decent number of 60fps titles at least.

I'm actually playing Twilight Princess on it now and have moved it to my other room already (less interruptions for people wanting to watch TV even though technically I could use the Gamepad's sensor bar support) in anticipation of playing Wind Waker HD.  After that who knows depends on how much I like playing on Gamepad when people interrupt.

why cant all vgc members be this open minded and free of sarcasm

and to the post above me,  i would rather have discounts then a 10% money back promotion,  and with ps+ a large portion of content is discounted quite nicely (often over 10%), with the added benefit of not being tied to your ps+ subscription.

Just to let you know, there are quite often discounts on the eshop as well. So you get the 10% back as well as discounts. I just purchased Darksiders II for $19.99(half price), but the 20 bucks was actually eshop money I recieved back from the 10% back program. So I just got a free game. There is usually a decent discount theme each month. During E3 it was 30% off all Zelda titles for the 3DS and Wii U.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

im aware,  i have a wiiu in front of me,  next to the ps4 and xbox one,  the 360, wii and ps3 under those.

i still believe in terms of value/savings,  ps+ offers the most of the three platforms,  followed by xbox,  then wiiu.

How? I just gave you the exact same reason that you said the PS+ was the better deal. You are paying 60 bucks a year to be able to play online and be privi to some discounts that are already offered without a monthly/yearly subscription on a different system that is also giving you 10% back on sales for now. I don't understand the logic.

If i buy content on psn thats available on multiple systems,  i can download and use it on mulyiple systems,  if i buy a virtual console game on wiiu,  even if the same game is available for 3ds and both my 3ds and wiiu are tied to the same nintendo id,  i have to buy that game again in order to use it on both.

if i buy xbox live or ps plus i am given good discounts on games,  often times very recent games,  and a monthly set of 'free'  games,  very beneficial on xbox but even more so on psn as i have a psp,  vita,  ps3 and ps4, the free games,  dlc and such i get per year across those four platforms make the price of a yearly subscription,  which in itself is often available on discount several times a year from the manufacturer themselves or online retailers,  very much worth it.

youre free to disagree of course,  thats your opinion,  but i suspect yours is based off of inexperience with the other platforms or driven by personal preference.
