Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Defends Against Claims That PS4 Lacks Exclusives This Holiday

Wii U already had it's best exclusive game of 2014 in Mario Kart :D

There really aren't many exclusives for the holidays on any system this year though. Which all the more goes to why I'm baffled that digital games and multi format games are never counted by so many on this site, because if you take them away, people really don't have a right lot to play that doesn't have a Nintendo logo on it.

Well I say Tropical Freeze is the better WiiU exclusive:)

Hmmm, seems like Sony has a giant Sony Santa Monica sized hole in their lineup...

Cheater!

They defend against people saying they lack exclusives by naming a bunch of multi-platform games?

Edit: NVM see the exclusives at the bottom of the statement.

They defend by listing two cross gen exclusive, a DLC of one of their three exclusives, and one exclusive.

If there are so many complaints that Sony has to make a statement to defend against it, then clearly a lot of people are bothered by the systetm having no games.  I think I'm the only Sony fan that will admit that the PS4 hasn't got sh*t worth of games while everyone else won't take their fanboy goggles off and will seemingly defend Sony to the death.

Why don't they go and ask MS why they lacked exclusives the whole year and why they lack exclusives for the first half of 2015?
Or do we only play video games in September-December?

wow gamers really are a bunch of babies. There's like 7 major games coming out. Can't you be content?
Or....do you really think that MS is going to gain an edge this holiday because of less exclusive competition??

As people have pointed out, how the hell are some in this thread saying PS4 has no exclusives but then turning around and praising the XBO's?

As far as retail games go, in 2014, this is what each have: (by release date)

InFamous VS Titanfall
MLB VS Kinect Sports
The Last Of Us VS Forza
Driveclub VS Sunset Overdrive
LittleBigPlanet VS Halo MCC

We have 2 actual exclusives for each, 2 cross-gen for each, and 1 remake / collection for each.

How does XBO's look good yet PS4's looks like crap? To be fair, both are lacking in terms of quantity. (exclusives)

Am I missing something? Everyone is just talking about MC collection, Forza, and Sunset overdrive for Xbox. That's not really that much, how is it that much better when PS4 also has some.

To each their own I guess. But try to think of it from the market's perspective.

Halo MCC is an enormously attractive offering for NA. Forza H2 is the sequel to a critically acclaimed game, and Sunset Overdrive is the most exciting new first party IP launching this year - doesn't mean it will deliver, but it has that unique potential.

Also, the title of the article (and thread) is inaccurate.

Title:  "Sony Defends Against Claims That PS4 Lacks Exclusives This Holiday "

Article: "So does the lack of AAA games hamper the PlayStation 4′s growth?"

When people talk about exclusives on this site, they mainly talk about the big AAA games.

I wish that was true. The amount of list wars we've seen over indie-games virtually no one will ever play outside of Games with Gold and PS+ has been mind-boggling lately.

Littlebigplanet 2 metacritic - 91

Forza Horizon metacritic - 85

Halo - remaster just like TLOU

SO - most exciting? that's highly debatable.

Seems you're thinking of it from your perspective, not the market's.

Both have it pretty bad, Wii U should be selling more. The biggest problem in my opinion is the overload in October. If some of those games released now they could have been bigger succeses. Like Driveclub, SO, DA, etc.
