Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Defends Against Claims That PS4 Lacks Exclusives This Holiday

Okay so what exclusives do you like in SONY's lineup for 2014 and 2015? All of them I pressume?

Maybe. I am not a big fan of LBP and Uncharted, but after TLOU i'm willing to give ND another chance with the franchise. Would still put these two at the bottom of my list though. LBP will wait until PS+. U4 will depend on what I see from it.

Halo CE:A and backwards compatibility.

Halo CE:A has no original multiplayer and Halo 2 is unable to play multiplayer

Halo 3s is better.  Only reason to play Halo 1/2 is story.

I agree but many ppl never had the chance to play h1/h2 multi  and this will include all the dlc.

Campaign: 4, 1, 3, 2, Reach

Multiplayer: 2, 3, 1(lan), 4, Reach

IMO of course. Halo 2's multiplayer is slightly better than 3 just because of those epic maps.

The double standars on this site will never cease to amaze me. When last gen it was the other way around, and 360 relied upon third party games rather than exclusives, there were plenty of PS fans to rub it in, and slate the 1/2 exclusives that the console did have. Now however, it is perfectly acceptable and people are content to wait delay after delay for exclusives and all of the sudden third party is enough. Vice versa for the XB crowd, who now believe exclusives is what trully counts, rather than the games in general.

Imo, exclusives are a bonus, 3rd party is diverse and consistent enough to supplement games during a console cycle, and that's why I was happy with my 360 last gen, but just ever so amusing to see double standards in practice on here.

Welcome to the internet, full of hypocrites (although we all know that already).

More so than plain hypocrisey I believe that threads like these bring out fanboys in such vast numbers that we think a certain fanbase is ALL bad. Which is not the case. Each fanbase has their diehard fanboys that simply voice their opinions louder and more often.

As for exclusives, for me they dictate whether I buy a console or not, hence why I wont be getting a PS4 anytime soon.

The only issue with your last statement is tha the PS4 DOES have exclusives and quite a few of them. It's just a matter of if you like any of them or not. And they will be getting lots more if 2015 so hey even though I have not bought one yet it still lookes very good with games for it not even being out a full year yet IMO.

The problem I have was they were asked about exclusives. Then they started talking about 3rd party multiplatform games and exclusive content(which is bullshit, imho). Sony does need to answer that question properly because they developed a huge roster of exclusives that they barely used last generation.

Does the lack of AAA titles hamper the PS4's growth?

Doesn't say anything about exclusives.  He responds saying we have such and such games.  Forgot to mention, we also have this game, this game, and also many of the titles have exclusive content.

Exclusive content may cause people to choose that version over a different version.  Thus, this is why it will still sell.

The only thing that helps the PS4 growth is the CoD crowd and people claiming it as the "best console ever". My brother bought a PS4 at launch, barely plays it. A friend of mine up in Ottawa bought a PS4, he sold his Assassins Creed 4 for PS4 after buying it on PC. The lack of exclusives, and truely exclusive titles is annoying. Only exclusive I want is also coming to PS3 this fall (Little Big Planet 3).

Isn't Forza Horizon 2 slated for the 360 as well? To me it looks as though MS has ONE true exclusive here and that is Sunset Overdrive. While Sony has infamous first light and Drive Club.
If anyone on any side of this argument can say with a straight face either of those constitutes a "better" lineup than the other they are just being ridiculous.

This holiday season will come down to the third party stuff and right now the lead platform has the advantage here.

True. I dont care for any of the exclusives either of the consoles have this year, but Im getting a PS4 soon for third party games. It just seem like the better choice imo.

So you think the COD crowd is what is driving PS4 growth? Really? COD after the trash that was COD Ghosts that's your thought? Not being funny or attacking you but that in no way makes sense. It can't be that people see value in the PS4 and are choosing it simply because it is the beter system? Which was also cheaper for a while? Or that some people actually like the exclusives games on it or coming to it? Like for example I am a HUGE KZ and Infamouse fan so those are two huge selling points for me. Word is that A LOT of their F2P/downloadable games are better than most retail games right now on any system. So that is another plus.

Also again no attacking you but I can NOT stand when people use the "My friend/brother/sistes/cousin/coworker etc" did this so this this and this argument. Because for EVERY one of those arguments there is a counter for someone who knows someone that did the exact opposite. It's like a cop-out for lack of a better argument. The thing is all people seem to care about now are HUGE AAA exclusives whether they be good or bad which is not a good thing if you ask me seeing as 3rd party support has ALWAYS been the bread and butter for all consoles bar Nintendo systems.

Lastly your last point summed up everything it is not that the console is lacking it is just that you personally do not want to play any of the ones they currently have. At least that is the assumption I got from you stating that all you wanted was LBP3.
