Forums - Gaming - Anyone else feel games without achievements/trophies are a waste of time?

It doesn't matter how much replay value a game has, because if it doesn't have some trophies or whatever then the game is obviously a waste of time! -_-

Yeah man. I can't really enjoy a videogame unless I'm running through those checkmarks, you know?

Sense of achieving something with their life?

Which is the motivation that drives us all in everything we do.

Lol no its not. I don't game to feel like I've achieved something. I game to enjoy an experience. The end goal isn't important, it's the experience getting their. If all I cared about was the end goal I would have platinumed Hannah Montana already 😁

So it's not fun striving for an end goal?

I guess we better call off the World Cup since none of the players have fun with it and are only in it for a stupid trophy and prize money.

You do know where your fun in games comes from right? All these little achievements within the game that give you the dopamine shot your brain craves. Virtually the same as a big dopamine shot at the end of an achievement.

Yeah if a player At the WC is their for the End goal, winning and aren't enjoying it they shouldn't be There. If however they enjoy what they Are Doing while heading towards the end goal then that's fine.

I have no problem With people who play games they enjoy and enjoy getting The trophies. I hate people who play shit games they hate just to get trophies to Add to their E-penis.

Edit: it's like when people say that going to work no longer feels like work because they love their job. A game shouldn't be a shit job for the pay, you should enjoy it and being paid is a bonus.

I like achievements/trophies to a certain degree but never enough to go for platinum trophies.

Yeah I think the same thing. I don't feel motivated to play and complete games without achievements.

wow Thats quite serious...

I wonder if it makes them question if they are actually playing good games because it kind of makes me wonder that, hearing everyone talk about it. Or do you just find a decent enough game and then just go for the next medal... and the next medal.

Wonder how many people played King Kong just for those achievements:)

Not saying its a bad game, just very easy achievements.

Fuck no. I disable those damn alerts when ever given the option. I play games to have a good experience, not grow some intangible penis.

Intangible penises are the worst kind of penises.

Well I saw he had WiiU games in his avatar and sig. WiiU doesnt have achievements, so...

I've been playing Dragon Warrior IV on my DSiXL. Been loving it. No Trophies/Achievements. So what.

Going back and replaying a game that lacks trophies or achievements doesn't bother me, but with trophies included in this gen of games, as long as the trophies are of reasonable difficulty to acquire, then I'll collect the trophies for the ones I really like.
