WiiU sales keep dropping with each passing week.......

No... this is in absoluty first week that ALL console sell less of 100,000 in one week.

In 2006 even if X360 sell 70,000/80,000 the DS and PSP sell more of 100,000.

In 2007 the Wii sell always more of 200,000, and DS more of 300,000.

Even in 2008.

In 2009 X360, PSP, and PS3 always more of 100,000.

Even in 2010.

In 2011 X360 and PS3 never less of 100,000.

In 2012 3DS never less of 150,000.

Even in 2013.

2014: PS4 and 3DS less of 100,000.

XB1 clawing away, we shall see how it holds up to NPD.
Seeing how gen 8 is comparing to gen 7 ,at the moment at least, makes me sad......

The Wii base just got up and left this gen, even better justification for MS to drop Kinect.
The casual market Kinect was designed to compete in is long gone.

As for Sony, this is their first summer in a long time where they don't have a AAA to keep their number up.
It will be a long 2014 with all the delays, GTA5 and Destiny might be the hits for the holiday.

Smartphones took em. The worst thing about casuals is that they have short attention spans. They have no specific dedication to a console.

Numbers are not bad guys. Expected this time of year. It's the slowest part.

I don't think this seems all that weak. It's summer, numbers always goes down then. And I would like to point out that the ps4 and x1's numbers are better in the same time frame now then ps3 and x360, like many others already pointed out.

what will be interesting is where x1 and wii u will stabilize

It's not weak at all, not for PS4/X1. Honestly, I don't understand the negativity. The cries of doom and gloom just absolutely baffle me.

The weirdest thing I see is that its coming from people that have been on this site for years! You'd think they would be the first to know that this happens every summer.

I don't want to get some nerves tingling but i think it's a mixture of people disappointed with Wii U and others who wanted PS4 to be even higher that is making them cry out the entire numbers. The latter is silly, the former a bit more understandable but still silly.

It's obviously gonna keep getting lower for a few weeks. No retail releases in the summer other than TLOU HD, which will only give a marginal boost (and, seeing as how it's going to drop more, it probably won't put ps4 back above 100k). In September things will start to kick in for everyone

The trend is continuing comparativley. They're still selling higher week to week compared to the same amount of time in the market as the 360 and the PS3. It's like people don't understand that these consoles are going to be around for YEARS. You can't expect the sales to be huge the first Summer (or any Summer really) the new consoles are out. It's getting a little sad to be honest. People here need to step outside of the gaming forums and realize that most families spend money on traveling and other expenses around this time of year.
