Forums - Gaming - Not enough time to play Vs. The best place to play

So I finally saw this commercial yesterday, and the fact that he was using the XB1 for many things didn't bother me much at all, since that its been advertised as the One Box for since before forever. What I did have a problem with is the line "I just never have enough time to play..." This is in direct contrast with Sony's:

The first thing that comes up on Google when you search best place to play.

It seems to me that Microsoft is still targetting the Mainstream Casual crowd, the line never enough time to play is more relatable to casual players who pop in for a quick session when they have nothing else to do, playing for no more than an hour. While the hardcore would definetly make time to play, seeing as its very important.

Sony has been targetting the hardcore from the onset, with their greatness campaign and best place to play campaign making it the gamer's choice for consoles.

This I believe is the fundamental problem with the Xbox One's marketting strategy, sure its much better than earlier commercials, focusing on games a lot more than the media functions which is great. But they aren't talking about it. How am I supposed to know about all the other games for the Xb1 if all I see is titanfall, snap, and football?

At price parity now, why would you get a 399 box that does what your smart TV just for the added benefit of playing games vs a 399 box advertised as the best place to play. If you don't care about games, you're not gonna get a console, and if you do you're gonna get the best place to play.

Like seriously, get it together MS.

It's just a line. Even hardcore gamers wish they have more time to play.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

but according to Jesse, the best place to play is in a meth lab lol.

yeah this is kind of truth, i spend a lot of time gaming but theres other stuff in your life that you need to take care of... sometimes i wish i could stop time and just play a game untill i finish it completely.

but depite what i said i agree with Dr.Henry, Sonys Marketing is more compelling to "hardcore" gamers.

I don't ever have enough time to play, but just because I wish I had more time. And sure I want to use my available time on the best place to play.

I agree with you. MS is targeting the wrong people with that advert, however, they do promote their games heavily as well.

I think you're taking the line too seriously.

That advert is probably one of the best adverts I have ever seen, even my parents took notice of it.

Because they like the TV and other non-gaming functions?

No. They're Breaking Bad fans.

Isn't Breaking Bad owned by Sony Pictures?
