Amazon isn't a good indicator since it gets updated hourly, and besides, the online world doesn't translate to the real world. Call of Duty has been receiving backlash for years but has still been doing well, so the next Call of Duty will do fine.

Whats the point then? We shouldent have successfull games because others copy it? So be it. I usually buy less the 5 games/genre anyways during a generation.

We should have successful games, but not dominating ones. I used to like COD, but when games like Resident Evil starts taking cues from it, its time for a change...

True, there are casualties. But then we wouldent have FPS/RPG hybrids if games like TES and CoD wouldent exist, or a high quality Tomb Raider reebot if Uncharted wouldent exist, or Rayman Origins/Legesnds if NSMB wouldent exist. IMO its simply a natural evolution. And only the fittest survive. Some evolve and turn out great, others... well as you pointed out, Resident Evil

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I makes absolutely no sence to compare a FPS to a Fifa or The LAst of Us!!!

In that case maybe Destiny.

Call of Duty will win ps3/360.
Destiny will win ps4.
Halo/Destiny will be tied on xbox one.

Total sales Call of Duty should win this year again. Ghosts will end up selling around 18-20million on just 360/ps3. That is a 4-6million decline from black ops 2.

Assuming a similar decline Advance Warfare will sell around 15million just on 360/ps3.
Considering Destiny will likely not be too popular on ps3/360, I just can't see it getting close to Call of Duty numbers with how small the next gen install bases are. It is totally possible that Destiny nextgen sales are higher than Call of Duty next gen sales though.

This is a superbly brilliant summary.

It's all pretty clear. The real mystery is how cod does in 2015 as ps360 really enter the deep fadeout.

The mainstream gaming audience will still buy it in masses, just like they did with all the other ones. The majority of people who buy COD are kids, who don't normally order from Amazon.

The day CoD dies is the day doomsday hits us all. CoD is so mainstream these days, there's no way they'd just get rid of it.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Still gonna be Call of Duty.
