Seems like a cool idea if you don't want to play on a handheld.

The only problem PSTV solves from the Vita is one of price. Library is even more lackluster, memory cards are still expensive. Cheap does not mean compelling.

it also fix'es perception of the product platform also, instead of being seen as an over priced Dedicated Game Handheld, its now a entry priced Micro-Game Console...Many may say that the stigma will continue on the price point on the Memory cards, but that depends, this Micro-Console is Targeting the Market for Topset Boxes "media Streaming" Box'es. the fact that with the $139.00 Bundle already comes with a 8GB card and even without that bundle the base unit has 1GB of storage that's still enough for some games and save files!

With A "game console focus" instead of a Dedicate Game handheld Focus, the Playstation TV is going into more of a Living room Top set Box market which is lower cost entry point but add on's will increase the price, many consumer's already know that anyway, so it may not be as Tough of a Area to gather support vs the Handheld game maerket is , with Playstation TV already being focused on the Casual Gamer.

If you look at the offical playstation web site the platform is being already promoted with Minecraft, and Angry Birds starwars, Lego the Movie, patapon and Final Fantasy VII

http://www.playstation.com/en-us/explore/playstationtv

THAT TO ME SEEMS PRETTY CASUAL GAMER CONSUMER FOCUSED

While if you want more Hard core Focused content the PS4 is the Focus

Now with Playstation TV the target dynamic is mainly not People on this forum and like other gamer centric forums most already know what it can do.

Its main target is family's with Little kids and young early teen's who want a new playstation this fall season but the parents want to spend less for it than $400.00 a system. Esp. if they have more than one child, this allows the family to get evey child in the household a brand new playstation for a low cost entry point this fall season. Many parents and children that age really i think for the most part are not going to go out of the way to pay for a much higher cost PS4 or xbox360 or PS3 or xboxone anyway except for one system in the house hold, but with this playstation TV having the ability to stream to all the kids rooms playstation tv would be able to have access to the same PS4 in the living room. Even as they get older. this platform Save's family's Money at a time where belt tightning is at an all time high.

It's already far too overpriced and lacks enouhg TV content to compete with micro set tops.  For 99 I can get an apple TV or Fire TV or a 35 Chromecast and any number of rokus in between.  Comparatively over priced games and expensive memory is no competition for those devices.  If you want to think so go ahead.

Since those issues remain and it's only going to be a poor competitor even in the new market of micro set tops it will gain that reputation just like it did in the game console market for those reasons.

You can get a 360 or PS3 for 139(Probably 99 on Black Firiday and holidays). Those simply outclass PSTV for the less than 400 console just like they did with Vita. They also have new games coming.  That means alot.

"Don’t have a Vita but want to play those few Vita games that catch your eye? No problem! With the PS TV you can simply download the Vita game you want or go buy a physical copy and insert the game into the dedicated Vita spot."

So there is no point in buying a vita anymore?
Well its not portable like this, but you can still play the games for just 100$.
I might actually buy PS TV.

Oh cool, tell me how playing Tearaway goes :/

Wait over priced? How the hell is it over priced vs' the other box'es also being the same price as $99.00 hell you just pointed out fire tv, and yet the Playstation TV is the same price as the amazon fire TV with the fire tv  game controller !

Also in 7 years  total sale through Apple TV has sold a grand total of 25 million units world wide, thats even with Apple being the top leader in that market even over chrome cast and fire TV, and you really want to sit there and think Sony is not going to do well in that part of the market?

You call over priced games? really? there is many $5.00 or less games on Playstation Network, and more is on the way because of indies is pretty much all thats on the way for the playstation TV and the PSVita right? no real game's right?

You have your Opinion and i have mine but i think before you are so quick to write off this unit, i think we would best be wise to wait on its performance in the coming year to see how well it will or would not do.

again:

"You can get a 360 or PS3 for 139(Probably 99 on Black Firiday and holidays). Those simply outclass PSTV for the less than 400 "

Again, that would most likely be $99.00 for the xbox360, but for the PS3 if you are talking Used maybe, and as for to ouclass a $99.00 TV Micro-Game Box duh? but the fact these other console's are not what this Micro-Game console is Targeting , this box is not only going to be with the console isle but also with the TV box's section along where Amazon Tv , and Apple TV and Roku, and Chrome Cast. the fact this TV box is more geard as a Game console vs those other tV box'es is a reason why that maybe its offering something those other box'es do not or not able to offer, Better Gaming experiences.

Don't
fuck it up this time
nobody cares enough
to pirate vita games Sony
ditch those stupid memory cards
and give the system a chance to sell well
At this point you should make the
system profitable and just
fuck away with the
software sales
piracy is best
for buisness

Hell, I think it is worth the $100 just to stream the ps4 to another tv.

I remember that some games are incompatible due to the missing back touch pad, was Gravity Rush one of them by any chance?

2 Questions that I have if anybody can answer for me just for clarification:

1) I can log onto my PS account and redownload and play all the PS1 games i've already purchased on my PS3 onto the Vita mem card and play it on the PSTV yes?

2) Can I play onlinie against/with other players that gamers that's using the Vita or PSTV (ie. I play together with my gf on the PSTV while she's on her Vita?)

1. I doubt it, it should be the same as Vita.

2. Yes
