Forums - Gaming - PSNow: Something Yet To Be Discussed.

I've been following news on PSNow for a while and I've never seen any site or person mention the potential for FTP games being part of the ecosystem.

Planetside 2 on Laptops, TVs, Phones, Consoles, Handhelds, Blu-ray players and Pads is a market too big to ignore IMO.

I'll keep it at that because there's lots to consider here and I'd be interested to see what this community comes up with.

Unless the free to play games are heavily supported with advertisements, I don't see on streaming them would be cost effective.

I think it's "yet to be discussed" because most of us know nothing about it.

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

Well... its a PS Now is a streaming service right? Why would there be any FTP games there to begin with unless its like free as in ps+ free... I dont think there will be any FTP games on PS Now at all unless its a trial version or something...

I'm confused by your post. Advertising PSNow is all Sony will do. People will simply scroll through what content is on offer and pick what they want. More people are likely to hit the 'FREE' button out of curiosity rather than pay money out of curiosity.

The more I read from posters, the more I realise most people still don't quite understand what PSNow is. The FTP model would work in exactly the same way it works on the consoles/PCs now.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant "heavily supported with in-game advertisements".

Planetside 2 on Laptops,

ummmm... isn't that already possible?

You'd better tell Sony because a lot of the games they're going to be putting on PSNow and eventually stream to laptops are already on laptops.

yeah,.. maybe.

with psnow sony is hosting the hardware to run the game and that load is going to be a lot higher than with other streaming services like netflix.  i have no exact information on the matter but i feel the economics of the situation has to be questioned.  other ftp titles generally use peer-to-peer connections which i have to believe is a choice to keep maintanance costs down.

so yeah,.. maybe.

The idea of streaming games sounds great, period.

What we know about Sony's pricing thus far is killing our boner.
