Xbox Live Games with Gold for July 2014

Coming up in July, Xbox Live Gold members can look forward to three new free games on Xbox One and Xbox 360. Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition will debut on Xbox One as a free download, replacing June’s Xbox One Games with Gold title Halo: Spartan Assault (so be sure to grab it now if you haven’t already). Max: The Curse of Brotherhood will remain available for Xbox Live Gold members to download for Xbox One.

On Xbox 360, starting Tuesday, July 1st, Gotham City Imposters (normally US $14.99) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through July 15th.

Then on July 16th, Xbox Live Gold Members can download BattleBlock Theater (normally US $14.99) for free through July 31st.

*Titles are available as free downloads for qualifying Xbox Live Gold members in all markets where Xbox Live is available. Some regions may offer different titles depending on market availability.

Having Guacamelee for free at launch is pretty awesome.

A little disappointed there isn't a retail game this month.

One game? And I already own it on Vita. Weak month for XBO. I think they should be offering at least one retail title for 360 every month. I understand why they don't do it for XBO but there's no excuse for 360.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Agreed, but they gave two retail games in June and 5 games in total.

This is pretty weak in comparison, but there are few things there I haven't played yet.

Better late then never. MS doesn't have much experience with supporting legacy consoles or really even multiple consoles at one time.

Spartan ASSault was so bad it almost soured me on GwG altogether. Wtf is Guacamole? Guess I will Google it.

Dat Battleblock though.

I actually really liked Spartan Assault. Is it the Halo game I wanted? Fuck no. But still a solid twin stick shooter.

Guacamole is alvacados smashed into a green slime with spices and other things. Goes great with chips and burritos!

Argh. I bought Battleblock when it was on sale recently.

I highly recommend Guacamelee! to those who haven't played it.

They are giving free guacamole with Live Gold? I'm signing it right now, maybe next month we get burritos.

Serious now, Guacamelee is a great game and Max is good too.

People complain games aren't new. MS gives out a game the same day it releases on Xbox One. People complain they bought it somewhere else.

-_-

Well June had Dark Souls and Street FIghter 4. As a happy GFG user, I need time to play those 2 so I am glad this month is a little light by comparison. That said, both titles offered are underappreciated, and is noteworthy that MS brings these into the spotlight.
