Even though Wii U seems to be failing, there's still a lot to love about the console. In fact, there's still a lot Nintendo is doing right that Sony and Microsoft haven't picked up on. Instead of just co-existing with the other consoles, should Nintendo pull a Sega and attack the competition showing off what they have compared to the others. The three big things I can think of are free online, first party titles, and the GamePad. Instead of just showing off those titles alone, they should show how much XBOX Live and PSN cost, and also compare the controllers abilities. Also, with characters like Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, all the Pokemon, Sonic (pretty much exclusive right now) Kirby, Samus, Fox, and many more compared to Master Chief and Nathan Drake they should easily be able to attract decent amount of attention.

Nah, it just comes off as douchey. Nintendo attacked Sega too. The 4th gen was nasty. It makes Sony and Microsoft look like a couple of nancy boys have a slap fight.

I think the WiiU will continue to enjoy stable/steady growth.

There is a respectably large market for 2nd consoles down the line, and they can grab a lot of players that either went PS4 or XB1 first, as it makes a TON more sense to combine the U with either of those than to buy both.

But regardless, most Sony/MS fans will buy their preferred 8g console first, then be open to a 2nd later on.

I expect the U pricing to reach $199 before too terribly long, and with Smash/Zelda/etc coming through, the U will attract far more people than many expect.

No... Acting like a cunt when you are behind the competition will just make you look less appealing than you already are... Nintendo has created this "family friendly" brand, for better or for worse, and if they go on the offensive, it will send the wrong message... Also, people should quit using Sega as examples of what Nintendo should do cause look at what happened to Sega... They ain't a console company for a reason

No, this is not a "genesis does what Nintendont" when the consoles were equally matched (all NES. SNES and Genesis). Nintendo has a disadvantage in the form of lack of 3rd party and power. They need to advertise their qualities, not mock the competition. Free online, biggest exclusive lineup, great indie support, cheaper price...

There's no need. Mario Kart proved the system is fine, people just want games for it.
