If it was profitable, I don't think its considered a waste.

Sounds like it did pretty well if MS wanted to do more. Buying the IP seems like something MS could do at this rate as well.

LOL 0.91M thus far on next gen development cost.

It could be a million seller with digital sales and it'll continue to sell.

If there was interest in continuing the IP so soon MS must be happy with its performance.

At the beginning of last gen 500k copies or less wasnt enough to warrant the success of a AAA game. At the end of last gen a million in sales was and still is too little to secure the success of a AAA game. AAA games are and have been the downfall of numerous companies. THQ was the first major company to fall to this. MS has no creativity and they are dependent on whatever IP's they can get. If they make a Ryse 2 that shows they are truly desperate to match Sonys expected development numbers.

A terrible argument? Too Human had a higher metacritic than Ryse. Crytek poses a threat to no one when it comes to game development. They couldn't even properly figure out the Kinect. Come on man. A half assed  and uninspired copy and paste Assassins Creed/ Arkham city clone in Roman Armor was supposed to be worth Microsofts investment? They are just desperate to pump out IP's at this point because their internal studios cant. I bet Crytek must've thought they were gods creating a game that could only run on small amount PC's but couldn't match the overall quality of Halo in gameplay. Thats where Cryteks achillies heel has always been. Gameplay was always their problem.

What fun you've had with Cryteks games is purely your opinion. That is not an argument and I leave you to your enjoyment. I would never judge what you enjoy so that is where I end that point.

Sony has a history of letting third parties help with games, but only when their first party is too busy. Ready at dawn? They are a secondary for SSM and Naughty Dog kind of like People Can Fly was for Epic when Microsoft kept begging the to make another Gears when they were focused on newer, bigger and better things.

Another terrible argument! I'm impressed.

Metacritic is your argument? You're going to ignore Ryse sold better in under a year than Too Human did in its lifetime? Seriously, use your head.

You're giving me your worthless opinions on Ryse. That has nothing to do with MS's interest in continuing that IP.

I thought Ryse was an interesting game and it apparently did well. People that actually played it were looking forward to more. A more fleshed out Ryse game could have been great.

And seeing Sony´s 2013/2014 line up for the PS4 I think that every one would agree.

Go do some reading about THQ, they made some very poor investments you probably don't know about.

Your arguments are so terrible. Ryse did pretty well and that motivated MS to continue it. That's the same reason Sony keeps rehashing many of their IPs.

Metacritic is part of the argument because it is an aggregate. It backs up my point that the based on an aggregate of respected gaming opinions Ryse was just above average. Literally. Too Human was considered slowly higher on an aggregate. The user aggregate was 5.9 which means the fans were more or less aligned with media reviews. This is also the same reason MS barred media from showing reviews of Ryse, because they KNEW IT SUCKED. Everyone in the media was talking about how fishy it was for MS to be barring reviewers from releasing their reviews for ryse. It was to stop people from stopping their preorders in time because reviews affect public opinion.

Ryse sold well because it was a launch title.

My worthless opinion? At least I had the class to bill something as your opinion and leave it at that. How you feel about a game is how you feel about it.

2015 isn't looking great either.

Based on Sony being so dependent on 3rd parties during their E3 show.

Sony made more new IP's than any of their competition last gen. Rehashing what? You're grasping at straws, sir. THQ went down because they werent getting proper returns for their investment and many companies will fall this gen by the same token if they dont start to lower their AAA development numbers. Its just becoming too much of a risk.

Sony hasnt revealed most of their games in development. Even a lowered amount of games is still more IP's than the competition. Wouldnt you want a company to push back games for the sake of quality rather than rushing it out? ::Coughs::Ryse::Cough:: MS was desperate to get it out for launch. They were sick of waiting and look what happened. They got an average scoring game. I am not making excuses for Knack either. That game was no system seller itself.

I have to give one to S.T.A.G.E.

We, in fact, don´t know if Microsoft was/is realy interested on a Ryse 2 based on how the first game performance alone.

It could be that Crytek was working by their on, with the hope to convince Microsoft to greenlight it and send more money.

I think we don´t know for sure for whom the rights of Ryse IP belongs.

Yeah, Metacritic is still useless for this discussion. Sales has more impact on continuing an IP than Metacritic.

I agree, Ryse being a launch title helped make it a success. But that's isn't the sole reason it did well. Look at Knack, that was a launch title available to a bigger audience. Yet Ryse sold better than Knack (excluding Japanese bundle of Knack).

Hah! "I had the class." If you had class you wouldn't do so much MS bashing. You just annoy people with that crap, that isn't class.
