Both Ryse and Knack have 4 stars. I don't see your point.

To be honest, the fact that anyone would be willing to even consider the possibility of making a Ryse2 ibaffles me.

To be honest someone could have said the same thing about the original Killzone.

The original Killzone was better received (and a better game) than Ryse.

Seems like MS wasted millions of dollars funding a game that failed and don't even get a franchise out of it.

If it was profitable, I don't think its considered a waste.

Sounds like it did pretty well if MS wanted to do more. Buying the IP seems like something MS could do at this rate as well.

LOL 0.91M thus far on next gen development cost. Don't forget this game was announced for X360 Kinect at E3 2010 and was delayed for years until Crytek scrapped the Kinect style and used the assets for what you see today. There is no way in hell this is profitable. Just because MS wanted more of it doesn't mean it did well. They just want more first party IP's to compete with and they'll use cash like toilet paper to do so.

The first Killzone was great. Halo killer? No. There have been no bad Killzone games. The problem with Killzone is that it doesnt push itself competitively. I am glad Sony has Guerilla working on a new IP.

The curse of Silicon Knights continues to hang over Microsofts head.

What does Silicon Knights have to do with Crytek and Ryse?

The curse of Lair caused the closure of Zipper Interactive.

Its a curse of MS putting money into companies who arent even close to being the best to make trilogies for them. Silicon Knights failed and were so bad Epic told them to stop using their engine. Crytek has their own engine, but their games are underwhelming even though they are graphically beautiful. MS wanted a trilogy out of them for Ryse I am sure. MS needs to just make a team and have them make ryse. How hard is that? Its like they have very little faith in their first party to make new ips.

Wow, what a terrible argument. Its like you aren't even trying.

Too Human was a mediocre game and didn't sell well. I'm guessing that has something do with MS not making an effort to continue that series. Epic's issues with Silicon Knights had nothing to do with the quality of the game. But you probably knew that.

Crytek games are fine and they had a trilogy under their belt. I had more fun with the Crysis trilogy than the Killzone or Resistance trilogy.

I would presume working with Crytek is easier than creating a whole studio just to handle Ryse games. Seriously, use a little logic. Even Sony has a history of letting 3rd parties handle their games.

First Killzone was great? Seriously? It was really poor. There were so many better shooters on the PS2. I'm surprised they made a sequel to it, that said I'm glad they did. 2, 3 and Shadow Fall are brilliant games.

Killzone was a very promising game that only built upon its promise unlike games like Fable in its genre for MS. Guerilla games at least understands how to make a proper shooter. The problem is making it competitive and artistically  groundbreaking. Thats what always seems to be the problem for Sony and Guerilla.

Let's keep things nice and on-topic please guys! This is not a thread to discuss MS' quality or their systems, ofcourse. I also personally don't dee much point dragging other titles into it either...

Also, no flaming or trolling will be tolerated; ofcourse.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

A terrible argument? Too Human had a higher metacritic than Ryse. Crytek poses a threat to no one when it comes to game development. They couldn't even properly figure out the Kinect. Come on man. A half assed  and uninspired copy and paste Assassins Creed/ Arkham city clone in Roman Armor was supposed to be worth Microsofts investment? They are just desperate to pump out IP's at this point because their internal studios cant. I bet Crytek must've thought they were gods creating a game that could only run on small amount PC's but couldn't match the overall quality of Halo in gameplay. Thats where Cryteks achillies heel has always been. Gameplay was always their problem.

What fun you've had with Cryteks games is purely your opinion. That is not an argument and I leave you to your enjoyment. I would never judge what you enjoy so that is where I end that point.

Sony has a history of letting third parties help with games, but mostly when their first party is too busy after the original PS era. Ready at dawn? They are a secondary for SSM and Naughty Dog kind of like People Can Fly was for Epic when Microsoft kept begging the to make another Gears when they were focused on newer, bigger and better things. Demon Souls was made in tandem with Sony and Software. Unlike MS you see...Sony has studios formiable enough to help third party make games.

It could be a million seller with digital sales and it'll continue to sell.

If there was interest in continuing the IP so soon MS must be happy with its performance.
