Forums - Sony - PSP passed 20,000,000 in Japan this week.

What a beast.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I believe the PSP has been discontinued in Japan, so there won't be any more shipments to retailers. Is that correct? If so, way to go out with a bang!

I like the PSP for its library of games but sadly the hardware feels kinda cheap to me and I don't play it very much for that reason.

However, congrats on the sales achievement. Sadly won't creep to much more with it being discontinued, but joining the 20m club in Japan is no mean feat at all. Vita will be lucky to sell 5m in Japan!

Vita will do that easily. Hell, with current support trends 7 million is in the bag IMO.

OT: congrats... arguably the best system ever made IMO, at least one of my favorite of all time, only surpressed by the PSone.

I sure hope so.  It's going to need some support from Square Enix/Capcom/Konami to reach that amount, imo.

The 3DS is slowly but surely reaching its saturation point in Japan. SOoner or later all that development muscle will have to shift some of its focus on the Vita, seeing that its one of the few systems that actually has some sales potential in Japan. Add in the fact that its overall cheap and easy to develop on it, and Im sure that more and more middleweight titles will appear.

A MH game could still do wonders for it, but Im starting to doubt that it will ever happen :| Missed oportunity on Capcoms side if you ask me.
