Forums - Gaming Discussion - Five things I like about my consoles.

I'll make this short and simple.
I like the PS4's basic philosophy, but I dislike it's online pay wall practice and lack of content.
I like the WiiU's software library and game pad, but dislike the poor ass 3rd party support and droughts.

Around the Network

Wii U (Likes):
1. Gamepad/Screen Interaction (Games/Web-browsing)
2. Wii Integration
3. Awesomely Fun First-Party Games
4. Free Online-Multiplayer Services
5. Virtual Console

Wii U (Dislikes):
1. Lack of Twitch App
2. Wii Integration Not Integrating Gamepad/Pro Controllers
3. Right Analog Stick Placement (Long Live GCN Controller!)
4. The Name
5. Lack of Third Party Exclusive Support

Current Consoles: Gaming PC, Wii U, 3DS

Xbox One: Things I like
1. Friends
2. Games with Gold
3. Upcoming games (Halo, Gears, Forza, Sunset, Quantum Break, Fable, Phantom Dust, Crackdown, etc.....)
4. UI (The Layout is really great)
5. Kinect (Voice commands, and facial recognition are awesome features)

Xbox One: Things I don't like
1. UI (It can be a bit cumbersome to actually find something in the store)
2. Kinect ( The lack of any games for the device is a little disheartening, hopefully MS increases support)
3. Games ( Like most consoles in it's first year the games are lacking)
4. Controller feels cheap and not well made compared to Xbox 360
5. Lack of background/customization (There is a little bit, in which you can the color scheme of the dashboard. More is needed though).

PS4: Things I like
1. Consistent message and no back paddling on policies.
2. Upcoming Games ( Bloodborne, The Order, Uncharted 4, Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Tales of, etc...)
3. Controller (DS4 actually feels better than the Xbox One controller)
4. JRPGs will have a big presence on PS4 like previous Sony consoles
5. Better specs than Xbone

PS4: Things I don't like about PS4
1. Games (Like most consoles in there first year, games are lacking)
2. PS+ (So far only indie games have been given out, which with the exception of a select few I don't care for)
3. UI (The UI on the PS4 is very bland)
4. A lot of recycled content
5. Lack of customization for example Dynamic themes etc....

Wii U: Don't own yet so no comment.

Edit: Most of these things for both of them will be addressed in future updates, meaning most of the cons will no longer be valid with time.

Makes sense. I also hate that they made avatars useless. All the investment we put into them last gen ended up not even being followed up on. They are useless if they aren't in front of UI. I think they are trying to get closer to what Sony is doing making the profile pictures the focus.

You're free to if thats what you have. I don't play on handhelds, but again you are completely free to talk about them.

Awesome list dude!

The only thing I dislike about the wiiU is that the lack of third party and the account being tied to your account

Thanks. What do you mean about the account being tied to your account?

Fuck Typo T_T

I meant console

So if you went to a friends to play on the Wii U with your profile you can't? If thats true Nintendo is so out of touch with whats really going on in the west.

In order of purchase:

3DS
+3D effect
+great library of games
+pedometer
+backwards compatible
+Swapnote (before it got discontinued)

-poor Circle Pad Pro support (I love that peripheral!)
-shitty web browser
-poor media capabilities
-relatively weak hardware
-uncomfortable without a seperately purchased "grip'

Vita
+backwards compatible
+great controls
+PS4 remote play
+great graphics
+good browser

-less than stellar software support
-3G is absolutely useless
-expensive memory cards (I've been maxed out forever)
-not really comfortable
-ashamed to play with it in public

Wii U
+Best browser of all consoles!
+great games/backwards compatible
+awesome controller does everything
+Miiverse
+free online

-Poor 3rd party support
-lost a lot of the Wii's features (photo channel, etc.)
-screws up simple online basics (ie:messaging, game invites)
-can't turn off the controller during certain functions (ie: Netflix)
-childish presentation at every turn

Playstation 4
+best streaming video (WWE, Hulu, Netflix)
+Awesome controller
+most powerful
+Remote play with Vita
+Great 3rd party support

-no PS3 support
-interface feels pretty generic/bland
-lack of media support found on PS3
-flimsy headset
-can't control TV like the other two consoles

Xbox One
+Great 3rd party support
+"Snap" feature is a gift from up above
+Voice control is awesome (when it works)
+TV feature is awesome
+My personal fav controller

-Kinect is under-utilized at the moment
-gesture controls suck sometimes
-Voice control sucks (when it doesn't work)
-No backwards compatibility with X360
-Loss of many 360 features
